1 | Why is the Apocrypha not included? | Bible general Archive 1 | SPW | 33414 | ||
Because they are not inspired by God, but are contradictory to scripture in more than one way. They defy the deity of Christ Jesus, and when it does tell of the deity, it makes it seem normal to have some raise from the dead, which was a feat that only Jesus Christ was able to perform. Lazarus was raised by Christ. Ephiphanes was said to have raised himself and died 3 times in the acrophya. John Bunyan used these books as a stepping stone to Christianity, but afterward said in the book "Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners" that they were only a hindrance in his christian life. I hope that this helps you out. If you have any questions, reply and I will try to help out more. Sean |
