1 | What is the Godhead? | Acts 17:29 | SOLT | 112977 | ||
Greetings hh, The word Godhead is referred to 3 times in scripture and in all 3 cases signifies Deity, Acts 17:29, Rom. 1:20, Col. 2:9. The greek word for Deity is Theotes and is used here in all 3 instances as 2 forms Theos(divine one) and fully as Theotes(Deity). Col. 2:9 is of special interest when it comes to Christ and the Godhead in that it relates to the Godhead or Deity personally. Christ is the is the personal and bodily manifestation of all the fulness of Deity. He was God incarnate and the manifestation of all the fulness of God's power and blessing to mankind. The fulness of the Holy Spirit rested upon him without measure and worked through his body. The fulness of redemption from the Deity came through his body.This is why we become complete in him and why he is the head of all principality and power(Col.2:10) Blessings, Paul |
