1 | What does God say about being a mother? | Bible general Archive 4 | SOGWAP | 200650
1. Your First most important relationship is with God. 2. Your Second most important relationship is with your spouse. 3. Your Third most important relationship is with your child/children. Parents are responsible to teach their children the Word of God. Psalm 78:1-7 Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Deuteronomy 6:2-7 (verse 3 says if you do God's Word "it [will] be well with thee--that is a promise!)Deut. 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. I Timothy 5:14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. A promise from God to your child/children is in Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. :2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; :3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. :17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. :18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. :19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. :20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. :21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. A woman of God-whether she is a mother or not- is a virtuous woman (look THAT up in your concordance!) Some information is from a class called "Living God's Word as a Family" (The Way International Biblical Research and Teaching Ministry). |

3 | demons interfering? | Matt 12:44 | SOGWAP | 200586
I have found in my personal life that praying in the spirit brings peace and comfort. I Corinthians 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. Claiming God's promises are a tremendous way to bring peace and comfort. Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep [guard] your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. II Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. II Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. |

4 | Passage may say some born cannot be save | 2 Pet 2:9 | SOGWAP | 200585
Perhaps the best thing you can do is to contact that member of your study group and tell him that you were writing down all of his scripture passages he used but you feel you might have missed one or two. Could he please tell you all the verses he quotes that night. Or perhaps another member could give you the verses if contact isn't available.
5 | How could Catholic priests be wrong? | NT general | SOGWAP | 200516
None is infallible concerning the Word of God EXCEPT God. Matthew 4:4 But he [Jesus Christ] answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Romans 10:9 and 10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. :10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. |

6 | End of miracles | NT general | SOGWAP | 200515
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. I personally have seen many miracles on the level as those performed by the disciples in the N.T. The "greater works" Jesus Christ was talking about is getting others to the point of being born-again (Romans 10:9 and 10); this was not available until ten days after Christ's ascension on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2). |

7 | what was jesus's occupation | NT general | SOGWAP | 200514
Certainly from his youth until his ministry started, Jesus was a carpenter as was his earthly father, Joseph. He also learned and studied God's Word exhaustively from childhood on. When he began his ministry he taught God's Word. So, yes he was a rabbi (a teacher, chief, master a title of honor in the Judean schools)and even a rabboni(great master, a title of the highest distinction in the Judean schools)
8 | Okay to question faith and the Bible? | 2 Tim 3:16 | SOGWAP | 200429
God WANTS you to ask questions and to study His Word. He loves you and wants you to know Him. The only way to know God is know His heart, His words. Just the same as the only way for someone to know YOU is for someone to know your heart, your words. II Peter 1:3 According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness [through His Word], through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: When someone tells you something is from the Bible, have them show you where. If they can't show you, then YOU search it out and see for yourself. Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. II Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. II Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: God bless your quest! And when you're ready to believe God's Word you can KNOW that you're born again when you believe(Romans 10:9 and 10)!! |

11 | What christian must gather with Christ | Matt 12:30 | SOGWAP | 200376
When a person is born again (Romans 10:9 and 10) we have comfort in [I Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.] The dead in Christ will rise first and then those of us still alive at Christ's return! [I Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: :17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. :18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words] |

I'm not sure if these will be helpful: Psalm 91:5 and 9 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; II Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. God bless you too! |

13 | Is King Solomon in Heaven? | NT general | SOGWAP | 200374
Only Jesus Christ was raised from the dead to sit at the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19) King Solomon, Lazarus, Moses, Paul and everyone else who has ever died are in the grave. Though Lazarus was raised from the dead(John 1:43), he did reach the natural end of his life at some point and is in the grave. Jesus Christ tells us in John 1:18 that NO man has seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. I Thessalonians 4:13-18 asks us to not be ignorant concerning those that are asleep (dead). And our HOPE! When the time is right, Christ will gather the dead in Christ and those of us remaining alive and "so shall we ever be with the Lord" !! |
