1 | How long did Adam and Eve live in Eden? | Gen 3:23 | Racan | 89410
Perhaps as little as two nights, three days. And certainly not much more than this.
2 | A question about God's creation plans | Gen 2:18 | Racan | 85548
Dear Chynna, Genesis 1:5 indicates that from God's perspective evening preceeds morning to complete one day in time. This incidently is completely opposite to our natural appreciation of time. Genesis 1:24-31 records the events that took place on the SIXTH DAY in the counting of time. Here God created all land based animals then he created Man, the male first then the female. Both were formed on the sixth day, so we're simply taking a matter of a few hours age difference. Genesis 2:18-23 focuses on the separation of the woman from the man. As you will remember from your Biology classes all the genetic information that defines the female is present in the male (i.e., the X chromosone). If you refocus your question and ask "What is the significance of God making Adam first?" you'd be on a better track. |

3 | why god didn't allow man to pick mate? | Gen 2:7 | Racan | 85334
If Adam had been given a choice, could he have chosen? But Adam had no choice, he only had Eve. But if Adam had been given a choice, would he have chosen any other than Eve? Before his act of disobedience, I don't believe Adam ever complained! |

4 | How did Eve hear about the tree? | Gen 3:1 | Racan | 85295
You are right, the woman had not been created when the LORD commanded Adam not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. Yet it is clear that she knew the tree's identity from her conversation with the Serpent. The only answer to your question is that her husband Adam, concerned about her welfare, would have warned her of the tree's dangerous potential. Something to bear in mind: prior to the woman's disobedience in eating the fruit, her converstaion would not be deceitful, thus her answer to the Serpent's question displays both innocence and ignorance. |
