1 | The peace of Jerusalem? | Ps 122:6 | Pululu | 157309
This is an interesting one to think about. The reason I say that is because if you take it for what the verse says, it's talking about Jerusalem. If you look at why the Psalmist is praying for Jerusalem, it's because it is the House of the Lord. The Holy City. So is David asking to pray for a city in general? That's not what I get. It seems David is saying to pray for the peace of the House of the Lord. After defeating the Jebusites, David declared it (Jerusalem) the capital of Israel. This is the place where Solomon, the son of David, built the first Jewish Temple (as David was not allowed to build the Temple of the Lord) Now, I'll tell you right now that I've come to believe Jerusalem to be the center of worship for Israel in the time of David, because of the scriptures I've read. With that said, then what David is praying for is peace in the place we worship God. If we look at it in our days, it is the Churches. We can see the battles (even lately) the Church has had to survive. Now lately the church has had it's freedom in the U.S. (not so much everywhere, so there still are battles) but even in the U.S. we are battling to continue practicing our beliefs with the latest rage of political correctness. So to put it short, we should pray for the Church. The Body of Christ. The christians and congregations uniting to worship, teach, and learn about God. But this is just one mans thought. So God Bless you. Hopefully I brought a good perspective for you to consider and it brought some enlightment of this verse. |

2 | Who does "your" refer to ? | Ps 122:9 | Pululu | 157304
It refers to Jerusalem, the Psalmist is praying for the peace of Jerusalem from v.6 to v.9 In v.8 his brothers and friends are those in Jerusalem. For there sake, he wants peace in Jerusalem. But v.9 he refers to Jerusalem, not his brothers and friends (though one can argue they are the same), but be the actual writing of it, use of language, pronouns and proper nouns, etc... He is talking about Jerusalem.
3 | Business that needs a Pastor help! | Matt 18:15 | Pululu | 157303
If there's a problem then you should discuss with him the problem. Don't keep it inside and let grow to bigger problems, don't go around and telling everyone else about the problem. Speak with him first, if it can not be resolved, bring in 2 or 3 people in agreement with you to discuss (not accuse, but discuss) the problem, if he does not see there is a problem, then bring it to the church and if the church is in agreement with you, he should realize there is a problem. Remember the biggest things is that you don't want to accuse or put any negativity towards him, you want to discuss it with him, because as I don't know both sides of the story, maybe he has personal reasons for his actions, or maybe there is miscommunication. There could be various things that is causing this disagreement of handling things. Whatever you decide to do though (and I recommend how the Word tells us to handle it) make sure you have presented the situation to the Lord prior to discussing the matter and that you allow a knowledgable word to move you in your discussion and not emotions. Hope everything goes well, God Bless You, Your Pastor and your church.
