1 | Should I Look For Another Church? | Heb 10:25 | PastorPaul | 76760
Dear Sister, I greet you in the glorious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My name is Paul, and I thought that I would just give you my thoughts on this subject. As a general rule, I tend to believe that a breaking of fellowship should be predominately due to serious doctrinal issues, i.e. Salvation. Therefore, because of these thoughts of mine, this is a tough question to answer. I wish I could give you some helpful scripture in order to assist you with this decision, however I know of none right off the top of my head that will follow. I have two questions that I would appreciate if you could answer, as it will help me better tailor my answer to you. 1. Is your boyfriend a believer? 2. Are you two going in the same direction? If you could answer these two questions I’m sure that I can be of more help to you. God bless, and may the Lord be with you. In Christ, Pastor Paul Is. 6:8 “I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something.” -Hale |

2 | Saved by Grace or Works or Both ? | NT general Archive 1 | PastorPaul | 66211
Dear Shortstop45us: Brother Tim has made an excellent point, and I'm going to build on it just a little. Many religions say salvation is based on works so first let's look at why this cannot be. Is. 64:6 states: "For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away." Now, you may ask how does this verse fit in with your question. Let's look first at Eph. 2:8,9 which state: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast." This verse makes it clear that salvation is by grace through faith. Now let's go back to James 2:14-18. I'm going to only quote verse 18 as at the very end you see the explenation. James 2:18 states: "But someone may well say, "You have faith, and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." The very end of this verse explains this supposed contradiction, you do not show your works to show your faith, you show your faith by doing the works. It is only when we have faith in God that indeed we can do truly Good Works. One more passage and then I will finish, Eph. 2:10 states: "For we are His (Christ's) workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, (these good works) which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." You see the good works we do once we are saved are God's good works. All goodness, purity, holiness, etc is in God, and therefore it is only once we are saved that we can do these good works for with out God, we have no goodness, purity, holiness, etc. I hope that this helps you. 3 | Church is kidnapped to Sodom! | James 2:8 | PastorPaul | 58209
Dear Brother, I had sent a reply to your predicament with your church, and I clicked on the message from justme so it got sent to them, I don't know if you had a chance to read it, but let me share a scritpure with you. Matt. 18:15-17 which gives us Biblical instructions. You need to speak with this married pastor who had realtions with a single sister in your church, the scripture teaches that if he repents then you are to welcome him as a brother. However if he does not repent they you need to take one or two other MEN with you (if this stags is reached I always encourage a couple of leaders of your group of believers). Once again if he repents then he is to be forgiven and welcomed in fellowship. However there is a final step that needs taken if he does not repent. His sin needs made known to the entire church. If he repents forgive him, and welcome back in fellowship, but if he does not, then you are to treat him as a heathen. I hope this helps you. You and your church fellowship are in my prayers. 4 | Who anointed Jesus' body? | John 19:40 | PastorPaul | 49911
Dear Brother, Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was scanning over the forum and I came acrossed your question, and thought that I would try to answer it as best as I can. My answer is based on the four gospels and their account of this story as well as the little knowledge that I have in regards to Jewish customs. It is interesting that the only scripture that mentions Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea is in the gospel of John. It does mention an impressive amount of perfume and myrrh. However I believe the answer to your question lies in the text. The time of the burial is just before the sun sets of Friday night, which would be the day of preparation for the Sabbath. According to Jewish custom once the sun set, the Sabbath had begun. I believe that although Nicodemus and Joseph had buried Jesus that they could only do so much, and the women wanted to anoint the body more due to their deep love for Christ. This is the best answer that I can give, and I do hope that it is helpful. In Christ, Paul Is. 6:8 Pastor/Founder: Blue Bonnet Ministries ”I am only one, but still I am one. 5 | Why did Joseph and Mary flee? | OT general | PastorPaul | 49910
Dear Brother, Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was scanning over the forum today, and I came acrossed a question that you had asked. This question is in regards to the flight into Egypt, actually mentioned in scripture in Matt. 2: 13-15. I may add that this is a very good question. If you were to read the passage, at the very end of it a prophecy is mentioned. This prophecy is found in Hosea 11. It says in Hosea 11:1 this: “When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son.” It is true that at face value this is just a recounting of the story of Israel and all that they went through. However if one studies it they will find, that in this passage God is speaking about Christ as well. Christ was to be a picture of Israel so that the Jewish people would see that He was their Messiah. This my brother is an answer to your question, and I do hope that it is helpful. 6 | God is I AM; how many times I am appears | John | PastorPaul | 49540
You will find that according to the Greek Text, and even in the English text, if you get rid of the itaicised words, I AM appears 14 times in the Gospel according to John. It appears at least twice in the Old Testament, in the Book of Exodus, but I believe there are other refrences to that. I will try to research that some this week to give you the answer in regards to the Old Testament. In Christ, Paul |
