4 | Please explain Verse 51. | Mark | PapaChapa | 73373
This study note is from Albert Barnes Bible notes. Mar_14:51 A certain young man - Who this was we have no means of determining, but it seems not improbable that he may have been the owner of the garden, and that he may have had an understanding with Jesus that he should visit it for retirement when he withdrew from the city. That he was not one of the apostles is clear. It is probable that be was roused from sleep by the noise made by the rabble, and came to render any aid in his power in quelling the disturbance. It is not known why this circumstance is recorded by Mark. It is omitted by all the other evangelists. It may have been recorded to show that the conspirators had instructions to take the “apostles” as well as Jesus, and supposing him to be one of them, they laid hold of him to take him before the high priest; or it “may” have been recorded in order to place his conduct in strong and honorable contrast with the timidity and fear of the disciples, who had all fled. Compare the notes at Mat_26:56. A linen cloth cast about his naked body - He was roused from sleep, and probably threw around him, in his haste, what was most convenient. It was common to sleep in linen bed-clothes, and he seized a part of the clothes and hastily threw it round him. The young men - The Roman soldiers. They were called “young men” because they were made up chiefly of youth. This was a Jewish mode of speaking. See Gen_14:24; 2Sa_2:14; Isa_13:18. Laid hold on him - Supposing him to be one of the apostles. Other scholars say that it could have been Mark as a follower. Hope this helps :-) PapaChapa |

5 | Was sin the reason for the man sickness? | Bible general Archive 1 | PapaChapa | 72937
You have to look at the consequences of sin. “Don’t sin anymore. What happens when we sin? The consequences of sin are death and destruction. Psa 51:14 Keep me from any deadly sin. Only you can save me! Then I will shout and sing about your power to save. Pro 1:32 Sin and self-satisfaction bring destruction and death to stupid fools. Rom 5:12 Adam sinned, and that sin brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and so everyone must die. (CEV) Rom 6:23 Sin pays off with death. But God's gift is eternal life given by Jesus Christ our Lord. 1Co 15:56 Sin is what gives death its sting, and the Law is the power behind sin. Gal 6:1 My friends, you are spiritual. So if someone is trapped in sin, you should gently lead that person back to the right path. But watch out, and don't be tempted yourself. Heb 12:4 None of you have yet been hurt in your battle against sin. Jam 1:15 Our desires make us sin, and when sin is finished with us, it leaves us dead. When a Christian falls to sin it could lead to death. Sexual sin can kill the body with disease. Tobacco can kill the body. Drug addiction. I hope this helps. |

8 | Pastor Preaching in a Mad way!!!!!! | Bible general Archive 1 | PapaChapa | 72454
You are a member of the “body, the church, the bride of Christ" and you have a right to voice your concerns. Spend time in pray first then voice your concern in love and compassion. If he/they rejects what you have to say then you have done your part. God gave us the Holy Spirit and His Holy Word to guide us through life. If you see that the preaching does not line up then hopefully you wont be the only one in the church concerned, others will also be concerned. Keep the faith. Your brother in Christ PapaChapa |
