1 | time? | Ecclesiastes | Orintex | 37458
Is it not more like Eccl 1:9, there is nothing new under the sun? My understanding is that when anybody comes up with a new idea, you can be sure somebody somewhere else has already thought of it. I'm intrigued and would like to hear more about your Einstein thoery John |

2 | Saint!!! | 1 Cor 1:2 | Orintex | 37457
The biblical and early church meaning of 'saints' is used interchangeably with church, Christians, The elect, followers of the Way or Believers. Some organisations have tried to change the meaning - to reserve it for only a few people chosen by men in funny clothes, but saints are really just people who are being 'sanctified' (made holy - more like God) by the Holy Spirit. Christians. |

3 | who did cain marry? | Gen 1:1 | Orintex | 36432
his sister. In the beginning the people were anatomically and genetically perfect. so there would have been no problem with marrying his sister. We know from Genesis 5v4 that Cain had sisters. It wasn't until Leviticus 18 that the people of God were told NOT to marry their siblings. remember, they didn't know any different. Our culture is different from theirs. Hope this helps. John |

4 | As the deer pants and deep calls to deep | Gen 1:1 | Orintex | 36430
"As the deer pants for water, my souls pants for you the same way God", this is from Psalm 42v1, "Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls" is Psalm 42v7 I take it you mean you want to have the same relationship with God that this psalmist had. Look at the rest of the psalm. The psalmist is crying out in desperation because it doesn't appear to others that God is protecting him. v9 -"Why have you forgotten me, why must I go about mourning all the time?" The point is that even though he doesn't FEEL God's presence all the time, his security lies in certainties rather than feelings. vv5 and 11 the writer calls God his Saviour. Throughout the psalm he refers to the things God has done - and he can't wait for the time when he'll be able to feel close to God again. But his confidence lies in God's actions rather than his own feelings. I hope this helps. John |
