1 | PRAY ABOUT WORKI | Matt 7:11 | Neightl | 190706
Matthew 7:11, "...how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him." Matthew 6:7-8, "When you pray don't babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answers only be repeating their words again and again. Don't be like them, because your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!" I think it is alright for you to pray about a job. However, don't pray and do nothing about the situation. God may not direct you in the way he did, say, Moses, whom he spoke to face-to-face (Exodus 33:11). So, pray about the situation and do something about it, if you can. |

The fruits of the Spirit (found in Galatians 5) are those thing that result from following the Holy Spirit rather than our sinful nature (found in Galatians 5). The gifts of the Holy Spirit are special abilities that the Spirit gives to each of us (1 Corinthians 12). |

5 | Are Jehovah Witnesses Christians? | John | Neightl | 190675
No, they are not Christians. They do not believe that Jesus is God (John 10:30). John 8:24, "... [Jesus says] for unless you believe I am who I say I am, you will die in your sins." John 10:30, "[Jesus says] I and the father are one." The original greek in John 8:24 says "I am" instead of "I am who I say I am". God (Jehovah) refers to himself using the name "I am" in Exodus 3:14. John 1:1 says that the Word, meaning Jesus, is God. However, the New World Translation (the Jehovah's witnesses version of the Bible) changes it to say that Jesus is a god. However, this is mistranslated. Please read "Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovah’s Witnesses" by Ron Rhodes (ISBN 1-56507-106-9) for more information. |

According to Genesis chapter 1, people were created last, plants being created before them. Although these plants were created, they were not growing (Genesis 2:5). Adam became a living person (Genesis 2:7) before God planted a garden in Eden (Genesis 2:8).
7 | satan's big lie. | Jer 29:11 | Neightl | 190572
Questioning what is good is caused by our sinful nature. (James 1:14, "Temptation comes from the lure of our own evil desires.") Why do situations often get worse when we do the right thing? Because sinful people are in the world who don't care about doing what is right. But if you do the right thing now, you will do better when you are judged later. (Ecclesiastes 12:14, "God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.") If you do the wrong thing now, you will do worse when you are judged later. But for your comfort, the apostles experienced the same thing. (Acts)

9 | need to explain | Luke 6:27 | Neightl | 190500
It seems that there is a break in your relationship with your mother-in-law because you have been hurt by her emotionally, and she won’t repent of what she has done. (By repentance I mean asking for forgiveness and changing her ways.) If we do not repent of our sins, then our relationship with God is broken (Isaiah 59:2). Similarly, unless she repents and you forgive her, you two are not reconciled, and your relationship is broken. If you would like to distance yourself from her, then you have the right to do that for the right reasons. If you don't think the relationship between you two will work out, then try to shorten phone calls politely and try to limit the number of visits politely. These things you can do and still love her. When you see that a relationship won't work out, you can limit it. But do all of this to be profitable with your time and energy, not out of bitterness or anger towards her; forgive her in your heart (Matthew 18:22) and love (I John 3:11) her but take the necessary steps because you see that the relationship between you two is strained. Also, your responsibility as a mother is to care your children. This includes protecting them from physically and emotionally abusive situations. If your grandmother is hurting you and your child sees that, the child will be hurt emotionally. |

10 | does God intend for us to pay tithes | Malachi | Neightl | 190440
1 Corinthians 9:14, "In the same way, the Lord gave orders that those who preach the Good News should be supported by those who benefit from it." I think that at least part of tithe is supporting those who teach you. |

11 | he gave him a tenth of all | Gen 14:20 | Neightl | 190439
My translation (NLT) says, "Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the goods he had recovered." instead of "He gave him a tenth of all." |

12 | Can a christian go to hell? | 1 Corinthians | Neightl | 190418
These verses are talking about people like the Pharises who claimed to be Christians but were actually not (Matthew 15:1-9). The Pharises claimed to believe in God (John 8:41), but when Jesus, who was God (John 10:30), came to earth, they refused to believe that he was God (John 10:33). So, the Pharises expected to go to heaven, but they were only fooling themselves because of their disbelief. So, those Pharises, who did not believe that Jesus was God, would be the one of those to whom God would say, "I never knew you."
