Greetings Jack - what is the truth? Are we saved by something we do or by something that Christ has already done for us? We believe that God has saved us in Christ, because of HIS finished work on the cross; not on the basis of our "trying not to make mistakes." Here is where I think people get really confused. They put their focus on what they do or don't do rather than on what Christ HAS done and IS DOING in our lives. Blessings, mommapbs |

2 | "HOW MANY DAYS DID IT TOOK DA WATERS 2 D | Gen 8:14 | Mommapbs | 200328
Greetings rajesh005 - Genesis 7:11 tells us that the flood began on the 17th day of the second month in the 600th year of Noah's life. The earth was not dry until the 27th day of the second month in the 601st year of Noah's life. You do the math. (Can you imagine being zoo-keeper for that length of time?!) Blessings, mommapbs |

3 | strength in the Lord to overcome fatigue | Matt 11:28 | Mommapbs | 199707
Welcome to the Forum CHo. Fatigue takes many forms. Sometimes we bring it on by what we do, sometimes it is the result of things we have no control over. Jesus said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath." (Mk 2:27) When the fatigue is a result of our choices,I suspect God may use this as a "red flag" to capture our attention. When God is at work in us, and we are completely resting IN (relying upon Him only), fatigue may be present but it will not be an issue - "I can do all (ALL) things through Christ who strengthens me. (Phil 4:13) Jesus bids us to "Come unto Him." This is the only step we have to take. As we submit to Him, we find the rest that He promises to give. There are things that cause fatigue that we have no control over: illness, certain medications etc. The emotional and physical aspects of fatigue can be a "trial" of sorts to the one experiencing it. James instructs us to "consider it all joy . . . when we face trials of various kinds." (James 1:2) The joy of the Lord is my strength - He rejoices over us!(Neh 8:10;Is 62:5) We rely upon God for our joy and this strengthens us spiritually. When fatigue hits, "Be still and know that I am God." (Ps 46:10 see v 1 too) Think about what it means for you to "be still." REST. Allow God to speak to you in this still period. Look to Him to reveal things in your life that need to be changed. Trust Him to be at work in you. From personal experience, fatigue is a gift of sorts. Fatigue demands that we stop doing - and concentrate on "being." Blessing to you, mommapbs |

4 | its some to think about | Gen 1:1 | Mommapbs | 199534
Greetings blue eyes and welcome to the Forum! This is whatGod's Word has to say: When Jesus comes to earth again (Rev 19:11vv) He will reign for a thousand years (Rev 20:6) and then the whole earth will be judged (Rev 20:11-15. John tells us, "THEN, I saw a new heaven and a new earth" Revelation 21:1. God is making all things new (Rev21:5, not all new things. He will restore what He has created to its original perfection. 5 | why were they sent out in pairs to teach | Matt 18:20 | Mommapbs | 199417
Welcome to the Forum Foxy - You asked, "Why did Jesus send His disciples in pairs?" Here are some scripture references that might shed light on a possible answer. Paul reminds us of God's instruction: EVERY FACT IS TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES. 2 Cor. 13:1 This is from Dt 17:6 "On the evidence of two witnesses or three witnesses, he who is to die shall be put to death; he shall not be put to death on the evidence of one witness." (Who might be a witness against mankind? What evidence might this witness present? Who advocates for man? Who is our Witness?) Jesus reminds us: "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." Mt 18:20 "And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart." Ecc. 4:12 Jesus is the strand that justifies and unites believers. I hope this helps. Blessings, mommapbs |

6 | biblical defination of widow/orphan? | James 1:27 | Mommapbs | 199410
Hi Rubygirl - See 1 Timothy 5 for some more spcifics on widows. When I read this verse I am reminded that only Jesus is "pure", "undefiled" and "unstained by the world." I suspect that these terms (widows and orphans in their distress) are used to identify what they need most. This is expressed by what they lack - a husband and an father. These could also be used in contrast to and to emphasize who we are IN Christ - the bride and adopted children. When Christ followers submit to His work in us, we become the conduit of His love as a Bridegroom to the widow and the Everlasting Father to the orphan. Blessings, mommapbs |

7 | Perfected bodies | Rev 20:15 | Mommapbs | 198842
Greetings Cheri - check out Rev 21:5 - God says that He is making all things new (not all new things). This comes after those whose names are not found in the book of life are thrown into the lake of fire - the second death - eternal separation from God. Also from Jesus teaching on sin in Mt 18:8 "If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire." It appears that unbeliever's bodies are "fixed." The "impaired" believer has the promised hope of restoration! I hope this helps. Blessings, mommapbs |

13 | Pride is a good thing! Or is it? | Prov 23:7 | Mommapbs | 153371
Greetings! How to balance the truth of God's Word with the message of the world is indeed a difficult hurdle as a parent! Basically, we are taught to belive lies and as a result we become addicted to performance and approval rather than looking for our worth from God alone. I have found "The Search for Significance" by Robert McGee to be a great tool. It is available in youth, teen and adult versions. Check it out!
14 | How did Matthew know what Jesus prayed? | Matt 26:39 | Mommapbs | 153367
Jesus took Peter and James and John with Him, but according to the previous verses all the disciples (except Judas, who would show up later) were there with Him. So although the three fell asleep, it is certainly possible that some remained awake and heard His prayers. Isn't this a picture of the church today? Many are indeed "asleep" yet there remain some who are awake and listening to the heart of the Savior!
15 | disciple who couldn't perform miricles | Matt 10:1 | Mommapbs | 153017
Jesus gave His disiples authority to cast out unclean spirits and heal diseases. In the next verses the disciples who were sent out were named. However, were specific disciples ever idenitifed as performing any miracles? (see Mark 6:13,30) The focus is on Jesus, His authority, not man's "performance." Can any man perform a miracle? WHO is responsible for a miracle? Acts 2:22 Furthermore, see 2 Cor 12:12 and Heb 2:4 The sign of miracles was in operation after Jesus ascension; this would certainly exclude one disciple for he was dead. mommapbs |

17 | Baptism: Infant vs. Believer | Acts 16:31 | Mommapbs | 152537
Circumcision as well as baptism are physical actions that are intended to reflect a spiritual reality. Just because a man is circumcized does not make him part of God's chosen nation of Israel and just because one is baptised in water does not mean that one is "saved." These are spiritual actions; both are the work of the Holy Spirit. See Romans 2:29; Eze 36:26. |

18 | name of the ethiopian eunuch | Jer 38:7 | Mommapbs | 152159
Read the account in Jer 38:7-13. Why do you think he used worn out clothes and rags in v. 12? Might it be that even when we think we have outlived our usefulness, we can still be used by God for His purposes? Note that even the eunuch, although unable to procreate, is still "productive." mommapbs |
