1 | Book of Life and Lamb Book of Life | Rev 3:5 | Magnum | 176130
It is my belief that the names of all people ever born are written in the "Book of Life" and it is the same book the the Lamb that was slain to take away the sins of the world has, but those who have accepted him are not "blotted out"
2 | What day did Jesus really die and get up | Matt 26:17 | Magnum | 42678
The Church has missed this one for years because it either doesn't have or want an understanding of it's Jewish roots. The main area of confusion comes from thinking that the day of preparation was Friday, for a Saturday "Sabbath" when in fact there were special "sabbaths" that were not Saturday. and days of preparation that were days before a special Feast such as Passover. As Jesus said in Matt. 12:40 "As Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." So Jesus had to have been executed on Thursday at the earliest to have been in the belly of the earth for three days and three nights. It could have been as early as Wednesday because one day ended and another day started at sunset in those days. I know this to be true because my Savior is not a liar. As you have noted a Friday death only puts him in the belly of the earth for at the most two days and two nights. |

4 | Are His commandments grievous? 1Jn 5:3 | 1 Cor 7:15 | Magnum | 38935
I agree with you that most people do not understand that a marriage is a covenant, not just between the two people, but between the two and G*d. Too many people enter marriage with the idea that if it doesn't work out they can just get a divorce. If people understood that marriage is a covenant, and understood what that meant, they would either not get married in the first place, or make shure that the person they are getting married to is the right one. I agree with you that keeping his commandments are not grievous, quite the contrary, following his commands brings life, not death as many teach. Many people love to quote Matt.5:17, teaching that Jesus has fulfilled the Torah, and by some twisted logic since Jesus fulfilled the "Law"(Torah), this somehow negates it. If these people would continue and read 19, "So whoever disobeys the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven". Notice this is not a salvation issue, because it states that those who teach against following G*ds Torah(Law) are no longer members of the Kingdom of Heaven, they are just called least in the Kingdom. Observing the "Law" out of legalism is for not, but following it out of love has to do with trusting. Romans 3:30-31 says Therefore, he will consider righteous the circumcised on the ground of trusting and the uncircumcised through that same trusting. Does it follow that we obolish Torah by this trusting? Heaven forbid !On the contrary, we confirm Torah.
5 | Did Jesus found the church? | Matt 16:18 | Magnum | 37142
Jesus was not the founder of the church for many reasons; the "founders" of the church were men who created the church after Jesus's death, burial, and resserection, and I do not believe he had any intentions to form a church. When we study Jesus within the proper Jewish context, we discover a Jew. At every point, what the Gospels tell us about Jesus, where we have reason to believe that their information is authentic, fits into Judaism. It does not fit very well into present day Christianity. In fact if we start from Christianity and work back to discover that it began with Jesus, we find very few links from the early Christian church to Jesus-so few, indeed. that only with some ingenuity can any connection be traced between them. Let us put the matter in more pictorial terms. In our western world, we imagine Jesus as a tall, blond hair and beard, blue eyes, and wearing a white robe(as Hollywood has in their many portrials of him). The truth is he was probably short by modern standards, dark-skinned, black beard, long untrimmed hair, and earlocks worn by all Jewish men of his day. We know he wore fringes on his garments(tzitzit), as commanded by G*D in Numbers 15:37, he wore tefillin(called phylacteries in the Gospels)as outlined in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 when he prayed formally, and perhaps at other times, and took it for granted that others would do the same; he objected only when they were ostentatious in wearing them in public, as some did in his day. He personally obeyed all the commandments, ethical and ritual, and took part in the sacrifical worship of the Temple when he was in Jerusalem. As did Paul who followed him, see Acts 21:26-29. I could go on and on but I will finish up with this, Jesus was scathing in his criticsm of religious phoniness, it was not because he opposed Judasim, or regarded it as intrinisically defective, but because he wanted the Torah(Law) to be fulfilled by everyone as completely and perfectly as possible, from the heart. In Yeshua's name
6 | scriptural basis for church government | 1 Tim 3:1 | Magnum | 37062
The government structure of the church is five-fold that is having five parts that being;apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Eph 4:11-13. I have been in quite a few deacon/elder/pastor run churches, and I don't see where this is Biblical. I feel that a pastor along with the other parts of five-fold ministry team have the duty to submit to one another. I doesn't say in Eph. that anyone is over the other, sounds like a team(or body to me). Hope this helps
7 | Did Christ not fulfill the law? | Matt 5:17 | Magnum | 22105
First of all most if not all of the Christian community does not have a proper understanding of the Law. The Hebrew word that has been poorly translated as Law is Torah. The Hebrew word Torah is more accuratly, G*ds Teaching and Instruction. So Yeshua(Jesus) Came to fullfill G*ds teaching and instruction not to abolish it.Another missconception is that the Jews were saved by following the "Law" this teaching if far from the truth about what the "Law"(Torah) is for, following Torah Brings blessing into the life of the believer. G*d has always saved by his grace, his plan has never changed, he is the same yesterday ,today, and tommorrow.
