1 | WHEN WILL THE RAPTURE OCCUR? | Bible general Archive 2 | Lisa G | 141713
This is a question that receives one or the other answer depending on who you ask. I personally believe Christians will be raptured before the tribulation. Why would God want to keep Christians here? We have already witnessed and informed people if they receive Christ, they will make it to heaven and if they reject Him, they will go the other way. We should also have told them that one day Christ will come back to get us. I believe the rapture will encourage many who had not believed us or just did not want to received Christ because they wanted to live their lives how they wanted to do their best to accept him when times are the hardest and reject the beast. |

2 | do we have to give tith? | Gen 14:20 | Lisa G | 140611
As you probably seen on this website, a lot of different opinions regarding tithing and scripture referencing. Tithing is a doctrine. Tithing should be done joyfully and one forced into it is not pleasing to God. One tithing while sinning is not pleasing to God. God wants us to be obedient and be a cheerful giver. Tithing will not get you to heaven nor will God send you to hell for not tithing. Full time ministers and leaders should be paid from the churches account if they are truly ministering for most of the day. A pastors/leaders responsibilities are never ending especially if they takes time to help the people. I have come from churches where pastor/leaders are always on call without pay. I have been at churches where the pastor/leades get paid and believe me, well rested, well prepared, well knowledgeable, and having time to pray more than half and hour when time permits makes a big difference in meeting the needs of the people. The bible teaches that Paul should and could have gotten paid, but did not want to impose on the people. Tithes are to help with the expenses of the church. It is to help with outreach material to reach people for Christ. It is to help the pastors/leaders be on call and have their doors open to people much of the time. I do not tithe the tenth, but sure would like to and look forward to the day I am able to give more. I also give to pledges because many people can't or do not want to tithe a certain amount each month. I also understand to live one has to contribute to the home they are residing in. The same rule applies to a home church. Chip in whenever and whereever the need is with a cheerful loving heart. God has blessed my family abundently as we have come to giving of our time and finances joyfully. We have come from proverty to owning our own house and soon another. Our budget has a set amount we give each month minimum and the amount does not decrease because of unexpected bills. It does increase with pledges and building new churches does cost alot of time and money. God has blessed us abundently. God bless to all of you who have a conviction of how you have chosen to give to the Lord. |

3 | Two or Three or Alone ... Is He There? | Mark | Lisa G | 138362
The bible has examples of godly people who prayed alone and received God's blessing. God hears us when we pray alone, but when making judgements against another Christian should be done in pairs. One fellow believer may grant a judgement that is not sound and may even discourage repentance. Two involved in the judgement can pray, seek God's guidance, and agree to an appropriate judgement that will encourage repentance and restoration. |

5 | Does the Father have a God? | 1 Cor 12:3 | Lisa G | 138107
I agree with Angel when referenced that we do not fully understand with our limited minds. We are only humans and we tend to not believe things we do not understand. Below is another bible reference that show when God is speaking and Jesus is ending the conversation. God is a mighty God and can do anything He wants even though we don't understand it. Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Rev 1:9 I, John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet, Rev 1:11 saying, "Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea." Rev 1:12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands; Rev 1:13 and in the middle of the lampstands I saw one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His chest with a golden sash. Rev 1:14 His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire. Rev 1:15 His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. Rev 1:16 In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength. Rev 1:17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, Rev 1:18 and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades. |

6 | praise versus worship | Bible general Archive 2 | Lisa G | 137961
Praise comes from our voices, music, and dance to glorify God for who He is and what He has or is doing in our lives. Worship is the way we live our lives on a daily basis. It is giving our time, talents, and finances to reach others for Christ because we worship Him. We only worship those things that mean everything to us and we will do anything for it. In this case, it is God whom we worship and give our bodies as a living sacrifice. If you use a topic bible to study praise and then worship, check to see what people are doing. |

7 | What is an opressed spirit? | Bible general Archive 2 | Lisa G | 137188
Acts 10:38 KVJ - makes reference that Jesus went around healing all that were oppressof the devil. NIV - makes reference that Jesus went around healing all who were under the power of the devil. Living Bible -makes reference that Jesus went around healing all who were possessed by demons. Revised Standard Bible - makes reference that Jesus went around healing all that were oppressed by the devil. This tells me that oppressed spirits are those who take controlled of a person's mind and/or body. Someone who is demon possessed you could say has an oppressessed spirit. |

8 | accountability help and advice? | 1 Cor 14:12 | Lisa G | 137084
I work with a friend and we share what we are going through everyday. We provide scriptures and encourage each other everyday. Find someone of the same sex to partner. Too many good will Christians fall into sin during these times. Calling each other and following up on each other's concerns are good ways to encourage each other to maintain Christian integrity. Also, remember to pray right away with the person when concerns pop up. |
