I believe that Jesus put his final disapproval on divorce in the second sentence of verse 6 in St. Matthew chapter 19 and it reads," What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder." In Christ, Lanny |

2 | Does being obedient get us into heaven? | Matt 7:21 | Lanny | 28365
The question was, "How can we have the assurance that we will go to heaven?" However in regards to your question I will answer by saying, yes, we must have faith supported by works in order to be in God's will. If we say that we have faith but are not willing to obey God, do we really have faith? We cannot say that we are saved and be disobedient to God at the same time. Some may call it works or they may call it whatever they will however, I didn't write the verse. Christ did. In Christ, Lanny |

4 | assurance of salvation | Matt 7:21 | Lanny | 28299
By being obedient to the known will of God. This is a good question and this verse tells us without a doubt that not everyone that claims to be saved are saved. Only those that do the will of the Father shall enter into the kingdom of heaven regardless of what others preach or do. God's will is very clear. And it is his will that we sin no more. 5 | Can one loose their salvation ? | Bible general Archive 1 | Lanny | 26988
Paul surely seems to think so in 1 Corr 9:27 when he says "lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a CASTAWAY." If nobody could loose their salvation why would he be preaching the way that he was, being ever so detailed, about every subject? I keep my body under. Why would he go through all of that? I'm sure that he could have enjoyed the world just like everyone else. In Christ, Lanny |

6 | Lanny, What is your definition of sin? | Rom 6:2 | Lanny | 23732
Deliberate disobedience to the known will of God.
7 | what was taken from the angel? | Job 20:4 | Lanny | 22134
In taking the book from the hand of the angel and eating it, John became a symbol of the church, or the people of God, who receive the Word from the hand of his ministers. The sweetness of taste signifies the eagerness that the people receive it and the gladness they experience when they first partake of the heavenly manna. The bitterness probably symbolizes the bitter persecutions and oppositions of which follows. "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution," 2 Tim. 3:12. 8 | Can someone sin after salvation ? | 1 John | Lanny | 21298
They can, and unfortunately most do to their own destruction. A good work of salvation to look at is Tit. 2:11-15. In Christ, Lanny |

9 | Is it okay for women to wear pants? | Bible general Archive 1 | Lanny | 21109
Hi, One scripture comes to mind in Dt.4:5. The dress was quite different in those days but I believe that it is Gods desire for us to be able to distingish men from women today. I can remember when I was a small child. It seemed that all women wore long dresses, christians and sinners. There were good moral standards then. Even when I went to public junior and high school, girls were not allowed to wear pants even though they had become so short that the rule was mocked. I wonder what Jesus would say about the dress of today? My personal opion and I believe that it is Gods also, is that we all should cover our bodies, from the neck down (men and women) without showing all the features that our society today adores, lest by any means we should cause another to fall. 11 | should we ask help to receieve healing? | 2 Cor 12:9 | Lanny | 19132
Vesel, My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. God is a great healer of the soul and body. The passage that we rely on consistantly is James 5:13-16. Sometimes we need to get others involved in order to get a response from God. God instructions here is to call upon the elders of the church. These elders must be totally dedicated to God's will. May I ask which state that you live in hope that you may persue this in more detail. I hope to hear from you soon and may God bless you and your family. Lanny |

12 | Answer too far from my question | Deut 32:22 | Lanny | 18642
Sorry Johnny, Guess I was looking past your question and on to the "unjust" part. I have nothing for you in the old testament but maybe Heb 4:2 may say samething about this matter. Again, sorry for the confusion. Lanny
13 | Absolutely perfect? | Deut 32:22 | Lanny | 18476
Joe When I was saved the tree of sin was cut down but the root of sin still dwelt within and was always ready and capable of resurfacing if not dealt with. Please realize that there are two cleansings. If one could be totally cleansed after one cleansing there would be no need for a second cleansing which is santification. How long this takes after one has been saved is different from one individual to another. For myself it was nearly 2 years. Some have reached sanctification almost immediately as with the case of Paul. Yes I had put away all outward sin but I knew that my spirit was not totally right. I could feel unwanted motions that kept coming up that I knew had to be dealt with. I knew that it was only a matter of time before they would manifest themselves outwardly. I knew in my heart that entire snctification was obtainable and I knew that I must obtain it or I would eventually revert back to sin. My desires were to never return to what I once was. After diligently seeking and laboring before God I finally by the mercy of God reached the point of being sanctified. God gave me a new spirit along with my new heart. Yes, Through the Grace of God I have put away anger, pride, lustful thought, malicious intent and motive to name a few. I'm sure that we see sin the same, however sin is sin regardless of how we see it. As for being perfect I am not there but I do believe that this is also obtainable and that we should go on to perfection, maybe not in the eyes of man, but in the eyes of God. The church in question is the Church of God. (nondenominational and not pentecostal)If you would like more information about the church or would like to attend I would be happy to supply you more information. Lanny |

14 | Sinless perfection possible? | Deut 32:22 | Lanny | 18402
Joe, Yes you understand correctly. A Sinless life is obtainable and according to the bible is not optional. I have obtained this sinless life through the blood of Jesus Christ first by confessing and forsaking all sin. Second by being justified by faith and finally by giving my life totally, mind, body, and spirit to God and being sanctified by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. As God has promised he has done through the Holy Spirit by sancitfying and cleansing my heart by utterly destroying all pride, anger, self-will, hatred, malice, and all that is contrary to holiness. 1 Thess. 5:23, Rom. 8:23, Ezek. 36:25-27. The work of pardon on the conscience is called justification and the work of holiness in the heart is called santification. These two comprise the whole salvation of the soul in this world. He who is completely sanctified, or cleansed from all sin, and dies in this state, is fit for glory. Rev. 3:5. Repentance must go before justification; justification must go before santification and santification must go before glorification. He that does not repent and forsake all sin can not be justified. I am ashamed of what I was before I repented of my sins but I am thankful and blessed for what God has made of me. I was blessed by God when I first got saved and secondly by leading me to a church that teaches the THE Gospel instead of A Gospel. I thank God for the truth that he has shown me and his church which I was accepted as a member the moment that he saved me. I gave up the lust and desires of this world and trust God for my every need with no regrets. I think the most important thing as far as sin goes is that we must be in God's will. If we are not doing God's will how can we say that we are living free from sin? Sure we are always growing, and new light will always come and when that light comes we must drop or add whatever we must and measure up to the true word of God. I hope that this may give you a little understanding of how a sinless life can be obtained. Lanny |

15 | Teaching about hell in the Old testament | Deut 32:22 | Lanny | 18209
The old testament teaches the same thing about sin as the new testament with the same outcome. The biggest deceiver and false doctrine in this world today is the you must sin doctrine. St. John 5:14 and 8:11 clearly states sin no more. Jesus would not command someone to do something that they were not capable of doing. This would be unjust. Also Jesus came to save his people from their sins, not in them, Matthew 1:21. Most want to give the devil more credit than God. They feel that the devil is able to put you in sin and that God is unable to deliver you out of sin. TOTALLY FALSE. We must live holy lives which without no man shall see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14. Look up the word holiness in the dictionary. 1 John 3 is an excellent chapter. How can anyone look past this and think that they can sin and go to heaven. And as it says here " let NO man deceive you". It's not unjust for them to go to hell for sinning and it is not unjust for us. If God were to let us get away with sin then it would be unjust. As for Moses laws please refer to St John 5:46-47 and Matthew 5:17. Nowhere in the Bible, new or old testament, do I see that we can live in sin and go to heaven. I hope that this helps.
