3 | Prayer without an Answer??? | John 17:23 | Ken hepting | 101739
If you believe God to be God then you must believe He already knows what you want when you pray. I can say everything to Him in about 3-4 mins. So why pray, you might ask? It's to get to know Him. The best way to pray is in the Spirit per 1 Corth 14. We don't know how to pray anyway, but the spirit does. The Spirit makes intercession for us in our behalf. It is He who has the mind of the Father. If this all sounds confusing it's because you've had no good teaching on the Baptism of the Holy Ghost per Acts 2. Not much of mainstream Christianity gets any these days. Everything is programs to discover yourself. Ken |

4 | Born again. Giving or receiving? | John 3:3 | Ken hepting | 101726
I couldn't agree more. That's why I've been stressing His FAITH and not mine is what God is after in our lives. My faith takes me to Him for salvation and then [*If I choose to go further] He gives me His FAITH unto a "Born Again" relationship in Him. It's His Life in me produced by my overcoming the old nature [1 Peter] that Father is after unto a fullness in Christ. That's why we are to set about learning Him. God's will for my [your] life is to become as Jesus, the man. *Note: If I don't choose to go further will I indeed, be saved? Maybe as by fire? That's a question mark in my thinking. |

5 | Born again. Giving or receiving? | John 3:3 | Ken hepting | 101725
[At the same time, I think that we might need to consider that growing up does not make us more or less of a son. Sons (and daughters) are born, not made.] No....tutored unto it. It's patterned after the Roman example of adoption. Jesus is our example in all this. Isaiah 9:6 (NASB) For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; We are born children to be tutored by the Holy Spirit and then be presented to the Father as "sons".. |

7 | Christ and Christians? | Luke 14:26 | Ken hepting | 101573
Are Christians on shakey ground when they claim to believe in Jesus Christ but either limit or dismiss some of His teachings? I am not questioning Christ's person at this point. But I am curious to what extent I can call myself a Christian if I disregard the clear teachings of the one I claim to follow.......seeking4truth Did you follow this one: John 3:7 (NASB) "...... 'You must be born again.' |

8 | Ken, are you sure? | Luke 14:26 | Ken hepting | 101543
Sure. The above doesn't speak of standing in the presence of God but only being rescued or delivered. None of what you posted qualifies for reconcilation. Only innocent blood can stand in the presence of God and live.
9 | Christ and Christians? | Luke 14:26 | Ken hepting | 101535
[So, in this particular case, it would seem that the scriptures themselves support that God's methods change over time.] I don't believe that is an accurate conclusion. It's always been a "blood" demand with God. Why? Because life is in the blood. Corrupt the blood, corrupt the life. Give a transfusion of new pure blood and save it. |

10 | Why should we dedicate our baby? | Luke 2:27 | Ken hepting | 101533
I agree with the scripture and of course the reasons Hannah did what she did. The significance is rich behind her motives. It's a shame the Roman church messed all that up with the unnecessary so-called infant baptism thing. Hannah's deed is much more from love and less a deed from fear. If I loved the Lord dedication of my children would [was] definitely be in the mix of my life and love to God. |

11 | Receive? | 1 John 2:2 | Ken hepting | 101349
What does this verse mean to you, Tim, and can you see application in your argument that man does always have a freewill? 1 Cor. 14:32 (NASB) and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets; Notice they are not subject to God. Elseware it is seen where men can fall away. Fall away from what? After becoming what? Ken |

12 | Purpose of this forum? | Luke 14:26 | Ken hepting | 101327
Not from my point of view. Your above letter is well worded and I ceratinly hear your heart beat in the matter. Rest assured God does, too. He desires His hearers to be real with Him and come away from "whitewash/plastic" salvation "protocol". If you are convinced of the saving grace of God through Christ my urging for you is to move on in Him; become as He has purposed, a son unto Him, that you share as a jointheir in all the things of Christ in that day. God's speed in your journey Ken |

13 | God's or ours | Matt 28:18 | Ken hepting | 101308
Great question, Ray! I see, from scripture, that our soul is to be made perfect through sufferings/trials/temptations. The perfecting of our souls is OUR responsibility unto "sonship" with the Father. See 1 Pet...1 John. Our soul is to come into union with the Father's MIND and that through our perfect[ed] spirit by the work of Himself as you have stated. This is the work any born again believer needs to be about instead of wearing out his/her "dedicator" every Sunday in a "woe is me" contrition...And every preacher ought to be about preaching that it not be necessary if one gets on in the becoming unto God, that which He has purposed. |

14 | Why 4 Gospels? | NT general Archive 1 | Ken hepting | 100984
This is a repost of what I stated in the another post. All of the gospels are referred to in the OT and in Revelation. By their being mentioned as such I would think that God sought to give addition "proofs" of their inspirations. Ezekiel 1:5-10 (NASB) And within it there were figures resembling four living beings. And this was their appearance: they had human form. [6] Each of them had four faces and four wings. [7] And their legs were straight and their feet were like a calf's hoof, and they gleamed like burnished bronze. [8] Under their wings on their four sides were human hands. As for the faces and wings of the four of them, [9] their wings touched one another; their faces did not turn when they moved, each went straight forward. [10] As for the form of their faces, each had the face of a man, all four had the face of a lion on the right and the face of a bull on the left, and all four had the face of an eagle. Rev. 4:7 (NASB) And the first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. All of this is represented by the four gospels. Lion of the tribe Judah.....Matthew Ox, the servant, beast of burden....Mark Man, Jesus Son of man...Luke. Eagle, Son of God, Christ...John |

John 15:22 (KJV) If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. John 15:24 (KJV) If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. |

18 | An Arminian Consensus in the Forum? | 1 John 2:2 | Ken hepting | 100709
I've stated this in another thread using others words. It makes a lot of sense since Jesus died for all in the world. I think in reverse when I say all are saved as a consequence but damnation comes in when you are told about Jesus and you walk away from it. John 9:41 (KJV) Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. |

19 | What power and its purpose? | Acts 1:8 | Ken hepting | 100708
Acts 3:6-10 (NASB) "But Peter said, "I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene-- walk!" [7] And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened. [8] And with a leap, he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. [9] And all the people saw him walking and praising God; [10] and they were taking note of him as being the one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him." ...........Now you decide |
