1 | Please clarify Proverb 19:23 for me. | Prov 19:23 | JohnDiscipleship | 201089
I believe this Proverb can be answered on two levels. 1) If we trust God and keep his commandments we will go to rest with him where there is no longer any sorrow in heaven.John 14:1-3 2)If we trust God and keep his commandments we will enter into his peace and when we are going through troubles we will be able to rest in the knowledge that God is in control. 1Corinthians 10:13 Hope that helps, God's best |

2 | Is it O.K. to question the Scriptures? | 1 Cor 2:2 | JohnDiscipleship | 192603
It is good to question, but not jump to early conclusions. I think that one of the clues to understanding how God created things is in Genesis Ch 1v21 everything was made according to its own kind. Within that framework everything was given the ability to adapt to the enviroment around it. That is often confused with evolution, what it should be called is the process of adaptation. You will notice that dogs that have adapted to all sorts of enviroments and tasks but they can still interbreed. The reason for this is that they all come from the same original species or kind. I hope this gives you a new way to observe what could appear to be evolution. God bless John D |

3 | who will be saved? | Hebrews | JohnDiscipleship | 192536
I Believe this passage of scripture was written to the Jews and is a warning about taking what they had for granted. When God gives us an opportunity we should not reject it because we might find that later when we want an opportunity it is gone. Heb 12 v16-17
4 | (no short ersion) | Titus 3:1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192442
The Bible does not have anything to say about age when it comes to dating, but it does have a lot to say about character and about obeying those in autority. If the law of the land forbids relationships with minors then this law should be obeyed. The maturity of the person should also be considered, we should never use anyone else to fulfill our own needs when it could be harmful to them.
5 | Still don't have an answer | Bible general Archive 3 | JohnDiscipleship | 192407
I think the focus when it comes to change should firmly be on ourselves. We our called to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith 2cor 13v5 also jesus asked those who had dragged the woman before Him to see if they were without sin before they could throw rocks at others.John 8v7 So what am I trying to say? If we see what we believe to be sin in someone else, we should first examine ourselves to see that we are not guilty of the same sin, secondly we should confess any sin before God through Christ so that we can be set free from the hold of that sin, thirdly we should then live as an example of Gods grace that he would forgive us and free us from the hold that sin had over our lives. Our witness to others is what God has done for me not what God can do for you. When people ask us why we behave the way we do, then we should be prepared to give an answer that way they do not feel badgered, rather they will feel free to examine our lives because it us us that walk in the spotlight not them. Also yes we should be constantly praying Father Forgive Them For They Do Not Know What THey Are Doing.
6 | Love God first and foremost | Matt 22:1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192396
There are sevaral scriptures that talk about a relationship of a husband and wife Ephesians 5v25-33 these verses talk about how much we should love our wives and how that is to be done. There is no mention that they should take priorty over anyone else, but that we should love them as Christ loves us. It is important to note that as your wife is now a part of you, you should not ignore her when she says something is wrong, just as you should not ignore your own body when it is telling you something is wrong. this could lead to serious complications later. You must both learn to hear from eachother and uphold oneanother in Christ. My role is a pastoral role in Discipleship Housing.
7 | God's declaration of priority in the fam | Matt 22:1 | JohnDiscipleship | 192349
I am in ministry and often get asked that question. The answer I give people is this, God comes first in everything, if your family needs you then that's where God will lead you, if a friend needs you then that's where God will lead you. You should not consider follwing God and then see what comes second instead you should always ask God to be No 1 in everything you do, whether Family, job etc. and then ask for His guidance as to how to best serve Him. I have found that my spouse and children and those around me make less demands on my time when I encourage them to join with me in serving others rather than being jealous of how I spend my time, that way we end up spending a lot of good quality time together. Iam trying to put Matthew 22 v 37 but it won't let me!!
