1 | Can i pray a similar prayer as Psalms 35 | Eph 5:33 | JoelYarger | 104572 | ||
Hey partsman - The Bible is God-breathed, He inspired the writing of its contents. There is nothing in the Bible that contradicts God. Because of this I believe that whatever prayers are found within God's Holy Word are acceptable prayers for us today. Regarding the prayer found in Psalm 35: if your being wrongly accused or mistreated, by all means bring it before God and ask Him to deal with it. Leave room for Him to work though. God says that He will avenge you; don't take it upon yourself (Rom. 12:19). Ask God to judge them with His holy justice in accordance with their actions. Don't ask God to do things to them that you may see to be fair or what they deserve. Let God work in their lives as He will. Romans 12:9-21 talks alot about how we are to relate to people. Also Jesus says in Matthew 5:16 to let our lights shine before men that they may see out good works and glorify our Father in heaven. Again, read Luke 6:27-38. Verse 27 tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who hate us. Verse 38 says, "Be merciful just as your Father is merciful". In Psalm 35:13,14 the psalmis mirrors this attitude. As Christians we are the witness or picure of Christ's love for others. We must live and treat others in response to His commission to us. Treat your enemies as Christ has treated you. If your being persecuted, give it to God and let Him deal with it in His way. God is righteous! I hope this helps. Let me know if I need to clarify anything. In Christ, Joel Yarger |
