1 | Freeze-dried Salvation? | John 15:6 | JesusInMyHrt | 88517
Read Ephesians 2:8-10 For it is by Grace you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.... Although we are Christians, we will never be perfect in this world. However, its not even a matter of discipline to live the word of God. When we grow into a personal relationship with Christ, we want to shine His Light. Yes, some thngs do require discipline at first, but later come from the heart. We live by the spirit which convicts us when we do wrong so that with the help of Our Lord, we can change those things in our lives that are unfavorable to God. Before I was saved, I had a horrible mouth, when I left the church that morning I was saved, the Lord took my foul mouth. I did not conciously stop cursing, the Lord delivered me from it amonst many other bad habits. In John 15, Jesus is talking about those that are not fruitful in their works. I don't believe that he means those branches will be cut off of eternal life, but be cut off the blessings that we receive now from God. If we don't have God, we are nothing and we will not prosper. Without the Lord in our hearts and lives, we would wither away. I believe what Jesus is saying to us here is that we being a part of the vine of Christ, cannot be fruitful without him. I don't believe this scripture is talking about salvation, but about our growth as Christians. Salvation is a gift from God, has nothing to do with works. But, once we are saved and we grow in that salvation, we learn from the Word of God that we need to put Christ first in all that we do. When we do this our lives will prosper. When we rely on ourselves or man, that is when we wither from the vine. I do hope this helps you. God Bless your efforts to learn His Truths.......Barb |

2 | are they commiting adultary | 1 Cor 7:15 | JesusInMyHrt | 88515
If she wasn't saved before her remarriage, then no, they are not committing adultary. People who are saved can and do sin. Salvation is not a cure all for sin. When we are saved we should be repentant of our sins, but that doesn't mean we won't make mistakes. I personally know of saved people who have had affairs. They have since repented, but still did it. Whatever sin we had before salvation is wiped clean as well as sins after Salvation that we are repentant for. If we ask the Lord for forgiveness for sins that we are repentant for, we are forgiven, but that doesn't mean we can keep doing it. If we have an affair after salvation, we know it is wrong and if we continue to do it we are not following the Lord, we are following the flesh. And should we divorce for reasons other than adultary, we are held responsible by God. And thus we are committing adultary even if we remarry. I'm happy for your friend :) it sounds like she found the Lord as well as a wonderful husband. I'm sure their union is blessed by God.
3 | re-marriage after divorce | 1 Cor 7:15 | JesusInMyHrt | 88046
This is a tricky question. Did this affair occur before or after Salvation? Whatever we have done before receiving Christ, is wiped clean. Christ died as a ransom for our sins. If we are truly sorry for what we have done before receiving him and repent, those sins are forgiven which would make it alright in the eyes of God for us to marry. If the affair occurred by the believer after salvation then read Matthew Chapter 19:1-12. According to this chapter, the husband in this case did not know that his wife had an affair and he is free to marry if the unbelieving wife divorced him. On the other hand, if he did not know of the affair and he left the unbeliever, he would be committing adultary should he remarry. The bible states that God hates divorce and that even though a believer is married to an unbeliever, that is not reason for divorce if the unbeliever is willing to live with them. Read the entire 7th Chapter of 1 Corinthians, this should make this clearer to you. I pray that this helps you. Love In Christ.....Barb
4 | Is not Love The Greatest Commandment? | John 3:16 | JesusInMyHrt | 88011
The First and Greatest commandment as Jesus gave us in Matthew 22:37-38 (37)Love The Lord Your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.(38) This is the first and greatest commandment. Then Jesus goes on to say in verse 39..And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself... As in all people, you will see Christians that do not walk the walk so to speak. But a True Christian, one that follows Jesus' greatest commandments will show the Light of Christ, they will show love and compassion. Jesus never meant for us to, "argue," any biblical points. He does however want us to spread the gospel and help bring lost souls to him. Yes, our God is a loving God and he does understand that not everyone thinks and feels the same way, but we as Christians have scriptural knowledge that we want to share with others. Its not a, "point," we're trying to get across, but the truth about our Savior Jesus Christ. By doing this we are showing that we Love God with our hearts, souls and minds as well as loving our neighbors. If we didn't feel love, would we care about sharing the gospel with others? If you were a doctor and you came upon an accident scene and a victim is injured and you see that there are people at the scene trying to help this dying person, but are doing the wrong thing, would you not step in and say, hold on you are giving the wrong treatment to that person? When we meet unbelievers that are in need of help, we show love by showing them the right way to go. Christ's way. Many people have a problem with listening to the scriptures because they are sinners and have a rough time admitting that. They sometimes feel that we as Christians are judgemental and unloving because we tell them they are on the wrong path. But we are not doing it out of personal judgement, but out of love so that we may bring the Light of Christ into that person's life. I was such a person. For years my saved family tried to show me the way, but I felt that they were judgemental and wouldn't listen. Then years later and many heartaches later I met a coworker that shined the Light Of Christ everywhere she went. After inquiring about her peacefullness, she shared Jesus with me and months later, I was saved. As for being bound by law, We are not saved by law, we are saved by grace. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith _ and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works so that no one can boast. I do hope that you can find a Christian to discuss this all with. It sounds as though you need some loving compassion. I will pray that you find it...Love In Christ, Barb
5 | Non-denominational theology? | John 3:16 | JesusInMyHrt | 88009
I belong to a non-denominational church. I had attended a baptist church in the past. I don't see much of a difference between the two. Both are based on scripural teachings. Both accept Jesus as their personal savior and God's plan of salvation. I only know what my church teaches, it could be possible that other non-denominational churches may have a different mission. My advice to you would be to go speak to a pastor of both churches to see the differences. Love In Christ...Barb |

6 | Whose will causes a believer to sin? | Rev 13:8 | JesusInMyHrt | 88008
God does not will us to sin. Sin is from the will of our fleshly desires. I believe that Satan plays a part in sin as well, but we as Christians know that God does not will us to sin. That is scripurally unsound.
