1 | getting started over again | Ps 19:14 | Jane Doe | 78875
Kevlee, you will find many different opinions on this forum. But, remember, there is only one opinion that matters... God's opinion which is found in His Word.... the Bible. Tonight, in seclusion--the closet, etc., get down on your knees and pray your heart out, asking God for His forgiveness, to bless you with wisdom to understand His way for salvation, and no others, the strength to repent and forever obey His commandments. You confessed that you have not been walking in the light as He is in the light, as scriptures teach us. The Bible plainly states: We must walk in the light as He is in the light in order to be saved. Study the scriptures daily for His plan of salvation. The Bible does not teach once saved, always saved, so study the scriptures eagerly. The Bible even speaks of those who have fallen from grace. BUT, the good news is, you can receive God's forgiveness. Kevlee, will you take advantage of free Bible lessons? If so, please write: Benton Church of Christ, P.O. Box 228, Benton, Ky 42025, asking them to be added to the free lessons, and providing them with your address. You work at your own pace. If you don't want to continue the lessons, simply do not return the lesson. No one will knock at your door or call you. You complete the lessons as you see fit. Thank you, and God bless to all.
2 | One save always saved? | John 5:24 | Jane Doe | 78802
Tamrenee: To the best of my understanding of the scriptures, there are no scriptures that teach, once saved, always saved. In the Book of Luke: I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. The Book of Acts: Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. The Book of 2 Peter: There has befallen them the thing spoken of in the true proverb, The dog turns back to his own vomit, and, The sow is washed only to wallow again in the mire. The Book of Romans: But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God. The Book of Revelation: Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and REPENT and do the deeds you did at FIRST; or ELSE I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place--UNLESS YOU REPENT; Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did NOT repent so as to give Him glory. The Book of Galatians: If you seek to be justified and declared righteous and to be given a right standing with God through the Law, you are brought to nothing and so separated (severed) from Christ. You have fallen away from grace (from God's gracious favor and unmerited blessing). The Book of Hebrew: Exercise foresight and be on the watch to look [after one another], to see that no one falls back from and fails to SECURE God's grace (His unmerited favor and spiritual blessing), in order that no root of resentment (rancor, bitterness, or hatred) shoots forth and causes trouble and bitter torment, and the many become contaminated and defiled by it. The Book of John: Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he WILL KEEP My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him; IF you KEEP My commandments [if you continue to obey My instructions], you will abide in My love and live on in it, just as I have obeyed My Father's commandments and live on in His love. All any of us can do is pray for understanding of His Word. Keep in mind the scripture which teach us, the devil himself believed and shook. We must ALWAYS obey His commandments if we are to be saved. Good luck, and God bless you.
3 | Is God ONE or is God THREE? | James 2:19 | Jane Doe | 78792
It is my understanding of the scriptures there are three in the God-head: God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. If they were one, wouldn't Jesus know the last day and hour? In the Book of Matthew, I believe, JESUS said, No man knoweth the last day or hour, not even the angels, ONLY My Father. Also, the scripture, This is My Son, in whom I am well pleased. And, we are instructed in Col., Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him TO God the Father. Such scriptures tell me God and Jesus are two separate individuals. I hope my understanding of this and other issues are in accordance to His Will. All any of us can do is pray for understanding. God bless you all.

I'm sure someone who is more Bible knowledgeable than I will answer this question, but I wanted to share my thoughts with you. It is my understanding, something along the lines of, we are instructed not to question His works. You are not alone with such feelings, and I pray your questions will be answered. All we can do is pray for guidance and strength. God bless you, sir.
