1 | Will God bless a union if sex before mar | Bible general Archive 1 | HAMmonite | 83244
dear mmmsm, I think you are aware that premarital sex is unacceptable along with all the other adulterous acts we can commit. Marriage however is a holy union blessed by God. God does not want to punish anyone by having their marriage fail. Christ said that the only reason for divorce should be adultery. Because a person who is unfaithful to you, has no dedication to you. In this situation we have the right to divorce, whether we decide to or not is upto us. If you've been unfaithful to anyone it's God and he has chosen to forgive you if your seeking forgiveness. I believe it was Paul who said " it is better to married than to not be married and sin" I believe you where unmarried and sinning, now to be married you are not sinning. If the relation fails it was not due to destiny or punishment, but simply because there was little respect and love for each other, or at least enough to not keep each other pure. Your question has been very reflective for me, I had a relationship that envolved premarital sex and was hoping to marry the individual. Things happened and now she is engaged to someone else. I lost someone I loved, I hurt my Heavenly Father, and I lost an innocense that in this life is difficult to have again. I hope my advice makes some sense. your brother in Christ, H.A.M. |

3 | what was the org. day of the sabbath | Matt 28:1 | HAMmonite | 72221
Hello Diva, my answer to that question is supported by Christ and the day He resurrected. We all have no doubt that He resurrected on a Sunday and died on a Friday. According to Matt 28:1 two mary's went to His tomb after Sabbath, which at the time was considered Saturday. The English word doesn't really capture that in the Title but many languages do for example Sabado is the word for Saturday in spanish. Other things to consider is that the Jews have been always keeping the Sabbath if not correctly then at least continually. There has never been a break away from Sabbath keeping from the Jews. In Hebrew the titles for the day's of the week are based on how many day's remain until sabbath. Friday being the day of sabbath preparation. As far as we know the same Sabbath Christ kept was the Sabbath Kept by the Hebrew in the time of Moses, who for six day's collected manna in the wilderness, and rested from collecting food on Sabbath. The decalogue affirms that the fourth commandment is based on God resting after creation and sanctifying the day or making it Holy "for His use". Which is confirmed with the creation account in Genesis. If you would like more precise details i have a few links from an unbiased source. http://www.religioustolerance.org/sabbath http://www.amazingfacts.com (Look under library books on Sabbath.) I hope I was helpful. Your Brother in Christ, Harold |

4 | How do I do this RIGHT? | Bible general Archive 1 | HAMmonite | 70810
Hello it sounds like you've been in some spiritual battles. And it also sounds like you took a couple powerful attacks from sin. Yet you still are struggling to survive, therefore you are still living. I hope you appreciate life with God better after having strayed from Him. As for your question it sounds similar to a biblical question that Jesus answered. He was asked by a crowd. "What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?" Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent." (john 6:29) The life we choose is not easy to follow, mainly because we are going against the nature we are born with. Still we seek a new nature, an existance in Christ. There is no short cut and it takes a lot of learning and unlearning. Here is what the word of God say's about developing virtues. "For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." ( 2 Peter 1:5-8) God's word has so much sound advice. All I can do is reenforce it. Your new life has begun with Christ maintain your Faith in Him and add on to it, one step at a time and I promise God shall always provide results. Do not be discouraged because we all have faced the discouragement that lives in our evil Hearts, yet our Hope is in Christ. Your Brother, Harold A. Molina |

5 | Where do I go from here? | 2 Pet 3:4 | HAMmonite | 51617
Hello treadway, My name's Harold but you can call me HAM. I just read your question where do I go from here? I myself have just recently joined the forum, so I wasn't able to see all the questioned verses you had previously posted. I'm personally saddened that your bible study and a book have brought you to these conclusions. Of course, you will believe what you will.I pray you don't give up and keep searching and praying for answers. Seek and you will find. It's not just a saying it a promise. As far believing the second Advent is a fraud or mistaken belief well, this is adressed in 2Pet chapter 3.Study this chapter, it does boil down to one this i want to tell you. If Christ hasn't return it's not because he won't it's because "he is patient toward you, not wanting any to perish but for all to come to repentance." (vs 9)Where do you go when you've come to the realization that your church hasn't been teaching you the truth? Seek out the counselor, the Holy spirit, seek out the answers, the Word, seek out the relationship, with God (Jesus). If you find any assurance from my words let me know if you don't then ask me your difficult biblical questions, I'd try my best to answer. Your freindly nieghborhood , HAM |

7 | Most accurate Bible? | Bible general Archive 1 | HAMmonite | 51091
I don't know if i could answer that question in great detail. Bible translations have two major issues to address. To be or not to be, okay yes bad shakespeare. To be literal or not to be. To be paraphrased or not. Any interpreter will defend that sometime paraphrase is necessary for a complete full understand of culture, setting and all those other aspects that help us understand something writing in another time with different people in mind. Others will argue that the only way to go is with a literal translation of the Greek/Hebrew (this requires a little more education and much more time). Having said that I heard a Professor in Languages and a background in translations, by the name of Leatherman rate a few of the more popular translation on the plane of lit vs par.You see when your goal is one you tend to lose the other. Kjv is more literal than Niv. The living bible is more Paraphrased than Niv. NKjv is more paraphrased than Kjv but more literal than Niv. Nasb is more literal than Kjv. Sometimes it simply comes down to just the fact that at the time some versions were produced we had better resources. Personally i use Niv more, scripturally I would use Nasb and to get a better feel for stuff I dunno about Greek and Hebrew I take a peek at the Amplified bible. God through His wonderful will Has left us His own words to guide us. We should be ever fervent Bereans and search all scripture. In todays Christian community I think that means all respectable (authenticated)versions. God bless Ya'll, HAM |

8 | Girl Problem in a Christ's way, | Bible general Archive 1 | HAMmonite | 51085
Hello sjuntak2 and all the forum, I don't know how many of us may have been found in a similar situation. I know I have, these matters of the heart are the toughest. The best brotherly advice i could give is that if you're not looking for a not looking for a romantic relationship, then you shouldn't have one. The more time you have to appreciate this girl, the more valuable any type of relationship with her will be. Also if you recognize that the more we venture into the many spheres of love the better our opportunity we have to comtemplate AGAPE. GRACE n PEACE TO ALL, HAM |
