1 | Is baptism required; salvation be lost? | Gal 3:11 | Ephesus | 230201
I think that the best verse for this kind of question is Galatians 3:11, and if you use the NASB bible it will give you all kinds of cross-refrences to go from there. In Matthew 23:27 Jesus called the Pharisees "whitewashed tombs" because they did all the proper actions on the outside, but were dead on the inside. Baptisim is an public, outward gesture of faith in the Lord Jesus, the baptisim does not save, it's Jesus blood shed for you that saves, and the faith you place in him as your savior. As fas as being disobedient and not making disciples, Ephesians 2:8-9 clearly states "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." So understanding that salvation is not earned by our human efforts, or by our works, how can someone say your saved as long as you have accomplished certain things?
