1 | can we pray for people after they died | Bible general Archive 1 | Daninjapan | 4394
This is what C.S. Lewis, in his elder years, said on the subject of prayer for the dead, as recorded in "The Business of Heaven", November 2nd. "Of course I pray for the dead. The action is so spontaneous, so all but inevitable, that only the most compulsive theological case against it would deter me. And I hardly know how the rest of my prayers would survive if those for the dead were forbidden. At our age the majority of those we love best are dead. What sort of intercourse with God could I have if what I love best were unmentionable to Him? ..." Although I am well aware that many people feel that prayer for the dead is inappropriate, I have never heard a compelling theological argument against prayer for the dead. |

2 | why did God create the world | Gen 1:1 | Daninjapan | 4248
In addition to being a world full of pain and suffering, which is the result of sin, this is also a world full of beauty and love. If God had not created the world, then there would be no beautiful sunsets, no rainbows, no smiles from little children, no love, no joy, no hugs, no kisses, no faithful dogs, no fuzzy-furry pet cats, no butterflys. And that is more like the world which God created. Sin, Adam's sin, our sin, yours and mine, messed up that world. But God has provided a path of restoration through Jesus Christ. Perhaps you are not experiencing much love and beauty in your own life today. If that is the case, then turn your eyes on Jesus - when you begin to clearly see Him, then you will find that love and joy that God meant for us to enjoy.
