1 | Is it a sin? Am I disobeying Him? | Deut 5:16 | D.D.1961 | 47551
I suggest that you listen to your father. Even though this is supposed to be a Christian website, it doesn't mean that weirdos or perverts might use this site as well. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you. He is much older than you and may be looking for a young girl to feel sorry for him and want to meet you. Whatever you do, DO NOT meet with him. Many people have had some serious problems with people on the internet. Don't take this the wrong way, but when most people ask for advice, they usually ask a close friend around the same age or someone older. I doubt that a 19 year old boy would be asking a 13 year old girl for help. I think he is up to something. Again, I'm not trying to sound mean or rude, I just think you may end up in something you really don't want to be in. Good luck!
2 | Compare secular music to Christian music | Bible general Archive 1 | D.D.1961 | 47548
I don't have my bible handy at this moment to give a scripture, but I would like to comment about the secular music compared to Christian music. I know that God loves music when we worship Him and uplift others with our spirits when we praise Him. However, most (not all) of the current trend in music today is violent, crude, sexual, etc... Alot of these new songs have swear words in them, encourage young people to do things that are wrong (violent/sexual). I don't have a problem with the sound of the instruments, the tune, or the volume...but I do have a problem with the lyrics on alot of them.
3 | D.D., is paradise a holding pattern? | Bible general Archive 1 | D.D.1961 | 47083
Luke 23:32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. Luke 23:39-43 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!" But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear god." he said, "since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong." Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." |

4 | D.D. do you have support from Scripture | Bible general Archive 1 | D.D.1961 | 47033
James 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial because when he has stood the test, he will receive the CROWN of LIFE that God has promised to those who love him. 2 Timothy 4:8 Now there is in store for me the CROWN of RIGHTEOUSNESS, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. Revelation 20:12-15 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and BOOKS were opened. Another BOOK was opened, which is the BOOK of LIFE. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the BOOKS. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the SECOND death. If anyone's name was NOT found written in the BOOK of LIFE, he was thrown into the lake of fire. NOTE: Earlier in Revelation 4:10 it speaks of "living creatures" (I don't know if these are angels or what), but it says that they laid their crowns before the throne. As far as the holding pattern goes, that is just my opinion since Jesus told the thief that was crucified next to him that he would be with HIM in paradise that very day (however, the final judgement doesn't come until later on), that is why I think it is a waiting place...NOT Purgatory like the Catholics believe where you suffer for awhile and then are able to enter Heaven. I hope this helps...I'm not the best at interpreting the bible, but this is the conclusion I have come to. Your best bet is to re-read the New Testament and find answers for yourself. Not everybody on this site will give the same answers or may even give very wrong information (including myself at times due to lack of understanding). GOOD LUCK! D.D. |

5 | after death, right then, what? | Bible general Archive 1 | D.D.1961 | 46802
I believe that after you die you go to either paradise (if you are saved) until the time of judgement which is where you will receive crowns for the good things you have done on earth. However, I'm not sure exactly where you go if you are NOT saved while you await judgement or if you are just in a "holding pattern" until then. Later on (if you aren't saved), you are thrown in the "lake of fire" with Satan where you will spend eternity in torment day and night. Eternity is a hard thing to imagine, but it says in the bible that our life on earth seems like a vapor that disappears compared to eternity. I hope I helped a little. D.D.
