1 | Disciples Killed Hung Upside Down Cross? | Bible general Archive 1 | Cowboy61 | 85609
Peter was hung upside down on the cross. He did not believe that he was as righteous as Jesus so he preferred to die in this manner.
2 | More about the 3rd commandment please? | Bible general Archive 1 | Cowboy61 | 85607
Romans 2:12 12 For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law; 1 Pet 3:10 For, "THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS, MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT. James 2:12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. I work in a manufacturing plant and I hear that phrase a lot but what I have found works pretty good is to state that, "maybe that's your god. The God I worship would never damn anyone." That phrase seems to pretty much cover it. Needless to say they don't take the Lord's Name in vain around me nearly as much they used to and if they do, they usually apologize for saying it. |

3 | the name of Judas Iscariot's father? | Ruth 1:1 | Cowboy61 | 85604
I have seen nothing that states that Judas Isacriot is referred to in the Book of Ruth. The man referred to as Judas Iscariot is not the man's full name. The traitor's name is in fact Judas, but Iscariot denotes the city that he came from. Thus, Judas Iscariot means Judas, man from Iscariot.
4 | Who or what are the "host of heaven?" | 2 Kin 21:3 | Cowboy61 | 85600
From what I have been able to garner after thirty years of reading and studying the bible, the 'host of heaven' is God and His Angels. Now, according to 2 Kings 21:3. What the author is alluding to here is that Ahab and his subjects worshipped the planets, such as those that the Greeks worshipped. This is a reference to mythology. When Paul entered Athens he alluded to the scholars of that city that they worshipped the hosts of heaven, and he also alluded to the fact that they worshipped an 'unknown God'. Paul stated that this was God the Father. But the gods that they city of Athens worshipped were the host of heaven. |

5 | Will be be above or here on earth? | Bible general Archive 1 | Cowboy61 | 85598
The dead in Christ will rise first. Those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior and have died or been killed will rise first, then we who remain on the earth. (ie., the born again people) will meet Jesus in the air. We will go with Him for the seven years of tribulation that the earth HAS to go through. No one in their right mind would want to stay here for those seven years of tribulation. They will be so bad that Scripture says it would seem like the whole population of the earth would be destroyed. But God shall intervene and subdue the destroyer. I prefer to meet Jesus in the air, have a banquet with Him. Be judged at the Great White Throne for what I have done in His Name. Then after the seven years are up we will come back with Him, defeat the enemy (Satan)and spend the next 1,000 years on earth with Him, before Satan is released again for another season. Some allude the term 'season' to 4 months. Other to 400 years. Either way, we will be residing with Jesus. You can find this in the Book of Revelation.
6 | Is it wrong to want riches? | 3 John 1:2 | Cowboy61 | 85594
Scripture says that Paul says we are to prosper even as our soul prospers. Malachi 3 Says if we pay our tithes and offerings God shall rebuke the devourer from us. If you have the faith to believe for anything, then you can believe for finances. Jesus did not live poor as some people state. He was very well taken care of by his followers. Judas was the caretaker of his purse and Jesus often told him to give to the poor. If he was poor then how did he give to the poor? God said He would take care of us. He didn't say we would barely get by. Check with when the Israelites came from Egypt. They came with billions of dollars in gold, silver, jewelry, and about 10 million animals. That is not poor. Scripture says they stripped the Egyptians of wealth. If God does not want us to be well off then why did He allow them to take everything?
