1 | Who gave the writer of Job his info @ | 2 Tim 3:16 | Bills | 4531 | ||
I think 2 Peter 1:20-21 gives us an insight into this very good question, where it says "...for no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God". While this narrative in the book of Job is not, strictly speaking, prophecy, it was, nevertheless, given to the writer by God through the Holy Spirit to be recorded into words, which we now have for our edification and understanding. I believe this passage is in the Scriptures to help us understand that, although Satan is powerful and destructive, he is still under the authority of Almighty God and nothing can happen to us apart from He allowing it. For the Christian, these tests, or trials, are for our ultimate betterment. Look at how Job fared at the end of the book. |
