1 | what is his image? | Gen 1:26 | Avi | 5488
I know I am a minority voice, but I would suggest that *we* are his image. There is fairly good support for this. (1) The Hebrew text permits it. (2) It is consistent with other ancient concepts of images of deity. (3) "Image" is a physical concept. An invisible image is a contradiction, and an image of something that is invisible is also. So, if God is invisible, we cannot be made *in* his image, but can be made *as* his image. |

2 | Do the Old and New Testaments Agree? | Bible general Archive 1 | Avi | 5486
Questioner, I agree that God never contradicts himself. The source that I have heard to support abolition of dietary laws is Peter's vision in Acts. However, careful reading will reveal that Peter understands his vision as referring to people, not food. I have not heard of other sources to support the "ham sandwich" argument. |
