1 | Is Genesis 1:2 the fall of satan? | Gen 1:2 | Appleseed | 143817
Hi, Thought I would answer this question in 2 notes - #1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Gen. 1:1). When God creates something it is always perfect (Deut. 32:4; Ps. 18:30). “For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens, who is God, who formed the earth and made it, who has established it, who did not create it in vain, who formed it to be inhabited” (Is. 45:18). So why does the next verse say “the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep”? There is no time frame given from the creation of earth (Gen. 1:1) to the chaos on the earth (Gen. 1:2). “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” (Gen. 1:2). Jeremiah speaks of the exact same thing, “I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void; and the heavens, they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and indeed they trembled, and all the hills moved back and forth. I beheld, and indeed there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens had fled. I beheld, and indeed the fruitful land was a wilderness, and all its cities were broken down at the presence of the LORD, by His fierce anger” (Jer. 4:23-26). This has never happened since then and will never happen not even during the tribulation. The earth was literally destroyed and covered with water. And because there was no light there was no heat therefore the earth was literally a ball of ice. Then God reformed the earth and recreated physical life forms over 6 days. Could God do make plants grow in super quick time? Of course He can. Who destroyed the earth? What was before the destruction? And why was the earth destroyed? Is there any correlation between the flood of Gen. 1:2 and God flood in the days of Noah Gen. 7? Who destroyed the earth? God destroyed the earth. Job said, “God removes the mountains, and they do not know when He overturns them in His anger; He shakes the earth out of its place, and its pillars tremble; He commands the sun, and it does not rise; He seals off the stars” (Job 9:5-7). This has not happened since Adam and will not happen, not even in the tribulation period. Then Job goes on to describe Gen. 1:2-5. “He alone spreads out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea; He made the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the chambers of the south” (Job 9:7-9). |

2 | Matt. 17:11-13 Elijah to John the Bapt.? | Matt 17:12 | Appleseed | 141548
Kim, A quick bridge building answer - Based on the “reincarnation principle”, if this was true and we know it isn’t, when the body dies then the soul moves into another body. We know that this cannot be the case for Elijah the Prophet because he is not dead but in heaven (2 Kings 2:1). The Biblical answer – Let me make a statement and then try to prove it biblically. Was John the Baptist the same Elijah that was in the Old Testament? No. Was John the Baptist reincarnated with all of Elijah the Prophet’s spirit, which will now mean Elijah doesn’t have a spirit in Heaven? No. Did John the Baptist have the same calling and same spirit as Elijah the Prophet? Yes. First some background. All the righteous before Jesus was resurrected went down to Sheol, in the earth. Except for Enoch (Gen. 5:24; Heb. 11:5), Elijah (2 King 2:1) and Moses (Jude 9) they went to heaven. Jesus was the first fruit of those who died who went to heaven (Col. 1:18; Acts 26:23; 1 Cor. 15:20; Matt. 27:64; Rev. 1:5). What about the prophet Samuel who served the LORD from a child surely he went to heaven? No to paradise in Sheol (1 Sam. 28:13-15), what about the “anointed” sons of Korah the Chief Musician? No (Ps. 49:14-15 Interlinear), King Hezekiah? No (Is. 38:10), surely King David? No (Acts 2:34; 13:36). Sheol is a place located inside the earth, it was owned by death and the owner of death was Satan (Heb. 2:14-15). Thus Satan owned all the souls of those who died from the beginning of creation. The righteous and wicked people both went there but were slotted into the different chambers within Sheol. Sheol (H7585) included Paradise/Abraham’s bosom (G3857), Hades/Pit (H953, G86, H7845), Tartarus/Prison of Fallen Angels (G5020), Abyss/bottomless pit (G12, G5421) and Gehenna/Hell/Lake of eternal fire (G1067). Jesus sacrificed Himself to set everyone who loved God free forever. “The graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had died were raised” (Matt. 27:52; Eph. 2:6). How? Jesus took the keys of Hades and Death away from Satan (Rev. 1:18; Heb. 2:14-15) so that we never have to be oppressed by the fear of death again (1 Cor. 15:55; Hos. 13:14). About Elijah and John - 1) In Matt. 11:11 It does not say John is the least in the Kingdom of Heaven BUT that the least is greater than he. Why? Because John the Baptist wasn’t even part of the Kingdom of Heaven until after Jesus was glorified. We know that Elijah the prophet was in the Kingdom of Heaven so the only way this can be true is if John the Baptist and Elijah were not the same. 2) When John died he didn’t go to heaven but went to Sheol – the same place King David, Abraham, Samuel etc. went. Why? Because Jesus was not yet glorified. After he was “the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had died were raised” (Matt. 27:52; Eph. 2:6). About 1 year before this happened Moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus on mount (Matt. 17). If John the Baptist was the Prophet Elijah then Jesus would be calling Elijah from the Paradise which was in Sheol. And at that time it was owned by satan. Jesus would be no better than a medium that Saul used to call up Samuel. Net, God placed the same spirit and calling in John the Baptist as Elijah so that the prophecy of Mal. 4:5 can be fulfilled in John the Baptist. John the Baptist came in the power of Elijah Luke 1:16-17. Andre |

3 | A humdinger can anyone answer this? | Luke 3:36 | Appleseed | 135957
to Add - it is not the answer - I think the only logic is that Cainan died before his son Selah came into the world and his father Arphaxad adopted him as his son. This was possible but is there another explanation beside this logic that is unstantiated |

4 | Are all Christians going to heaven? | Matt 7:21 | Appleseed | 10612
Then why did Paul say, "I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus." 1 Thess. 4:13-14
5 | Tell me who unties them? | Matt 18:18 | Appleseed | 10307
Who says they are unbound? Do we think that only 1000 or 1000 000 or 1000 000 000 exist? Do we think that only 1 or 2 exist around a situation? We are only limited to our belief, for nothing is impossible to them who believes. It is unbelief that unties them. Let's not protect demons any more, let's bind them with the fruits of our lips done in faith. Then Jesus touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be to you." (Matt. 9:29) |
