The nations that existed in bible times, had many "Gods" that they worshipped. The Jews and Christians had one. “For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, as there be gods many, and lords many, but to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” (1 Corinthians 8:5-6)
2 | Is there a bible verse that means this? | Rom 8:28 | 34224 | 232173
Well,1st of all, logic says NO. If everything happened for a reason, that would make God responsible. Safety standards at factories and coal mines, etc, would have no statistical difference, across the board. In my examination of my beliefs, one of the first things I came to see, is that God has a purpose in what he does. While everything does not happen for a reason, things that happen, that could interfere with his purpose, such as when the "wise men" were to tell Herod where Jesus was as a child and an angel told them to leave town by a different route etc. Most of what happens in life has nothing to do with God. As it says in the last part of Ecclesiastes 9:11 IT IS JUST HAPPENSTANCE. "because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all" That's a "nutshell" answer. |
