1 | Code to the Bible? | Bible general Archive 1 | teragram123 | 54769
There is a book written on this subject... "Bible Code" ... I don't remember the author. But it goes into much detail explaining the code of the Bible... but clearly reminds us to not look to these codes nor use them in any way for guidance, but simply to remind ourselves of the omnipotence of God! Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. --- teragram123

3 | Is there anyone condemed to die by God? | Bible general Archive 1 | teragram123 | 54883
the link between the preaching of the gospel and the sealing of Gods people? Ezekiel 9:4-6 And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. [5] And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: [6] Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. Isaiah 66:2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. Those marked (sealed) by God are those that hungar and thirst after righteousness |

Matthew 21:28-31 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. [29] He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. [30] And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. [31] Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. James 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. Our confession of Christ is not enough, we must do His word. The son that said he would and did not did not do the fathers will only said he would. The other at first refused but than changed his mind and began to do the will of the Father. Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. |

7 | why is Catholic confession required? | Bible general Archive 1 | teragram123 | 57079
I believe you misunderstood me about doctrine and words being true. I was quoting from your statement. “Catholics believe the atoning blood of Christ and only the blood of Christ washes us clean and achieves for us eternal salvation.” The words... the Blood cleanses is altogether true... but If as a Catholic, had I truly believed in the blood’s saving and cleansing power, my faith would have prevented me from confessing to the priest, and doing the penances to alleviate the pain of sin that required a term in purgatory. If I had believed as you were saying, my faith would have shown by my works... and those works would NOT have been vain works. Faith frees the soul of the fear for the need of added works above the Blood. What can wash away my sin? NOTHING but the blood of Jesus. |

[2] And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. 10 | Identifying the born again moment | NT general Archive 1 | teragram123 | 58477
You could make this very hour the point of total commitment to Christ... a moment to point to when the enemy causes you to doubt... the day and the hour does not matter... but the fact that you made the commitment. Journal your commitment for your own benefit... the Lord knows the time in the past and has it recorded in HIS records. But I find my journal has become a very strong weapon during battles. Rev. 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. |

12 | What do the 120 years pertain to? | Gen 6:3 | teragram123 | 56015
It was fulfilled in Adam, and gave him 120 more years to live before being cut off. This word was given to Adam when he was 810 years old The meaning is, "for that he (Adam) is also flesh (as all other men are): yet his (Adam's) days shall be an hundred and twenty years" (Genesis 6:3).... 13 | Why did David handle Saul's sin wrong? | 2 Sam 21:7 | teragram123 | 58106
I believe this is a prophetic statement pointing to the salvation of Christ... the day of the Lord when each will stand for his own sins done in the body Col. 3:25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons. God is a Covenant God... keeping Covenant even when man forsakes and forgets the words he has vowed... even unto the generations that come after... Saul broke a vow made to the Gibeonites... they tricked the Israelites into making the covenant using deceit. God still held them accountable to the words of the their mouth. This speaks very clearly to the false notion we have heard today about the ease of laying aside our vows that we made foolishly. Eccles. 5:1-7 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil. [2] Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. [3] For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words. [4] When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. [5] Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay. [6] Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands? [7] For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God. When we enter a Covenant with God... he is our defense... fights our battles for us. The Gibeanites were in Covenant with God’s people... but they failed to protect them under Saul’s reign. God therefore avenged their blood with the blood of Saul’s sons. Note though that the son’s of Jonathan were under a greater Covenant of protection... they were not killed. 2 Samuel 21:7 But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the Lord's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul. Rizpah however did not have a covenant... and could only plead the mercies of David. How clear of a warning that we may receive mercy but the Covenant holds more sure promises. Do we want the decent burial when we die or do we want a covenant promise of salvation? |

14 | Is "Revival" A Biblical Concept? | Ps 85:6 | teragram123 | 56017
Psalm 85:6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Psalm 138:7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Hosea 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Hosea 14:7 They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon. Habakkuk 3:2 O Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy. VERY BIBLE |

15 | What is the meaning of "line upon line" | Is 28:10 | teragram123 | 55565
1 Cor. 3:11-15 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. [12] Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; [13] Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. [14] If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. [15] If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Luke 6:48-49 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. [49] But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great. In the beginning God... all truths rest upon this bedrock... Christ is that Rock one truth (line) must rest upon a truth previous to it... Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? 1 Cor. 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. Christ knew that if they would not receive Moses words... He had nothing to build on in their faith.... John 5:45-47 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. [46] For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. [47] But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words? this is the very reason cults are so difficult to witness to.. they define words differently than the Christian and you can’t build upon their “truth” |

16 | I need study notes on Is 43:26 | Is 43:26 | teragram123 | 56701
God was asking Israel to remember Him as a partner in their longstanding relationship, in Covenant, to reason together with Him, and to produce all the arguments possible in their own defense to justify their own backslidings and continued rebellion. There will be a real court and defence and witnesses in Heaven... for this very reason we need to be sure that Christ is our attorney! He on the other hand accused them of sin (Isaiah 43:24,27) He said they were disserving of punishment (Isaiah 43:28). He asked them to bring “evidence”, in self-defense to justify their actions or prove they were accused unjustly. compare this to 1 Samuel 12:3-5 Behold, here I am: witness against me before the Lord, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you. [4] And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man's hand. [5] And he said unto them, The Lord is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my hand. And they answered, He is witness. Psalm 94:2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. God keeps Covenant... Israel had made Covenant with Him... now He was about to judge the broken Covenant Deut. 10:12-13 And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, [13] To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? The Law of God will stand up in the “courts of Heaven”... this the very reason satan desires to get a “place” in our lives to legally work and destroy us. Ephes. 4:27 Neither give place to the devil. Place - topos, a spot (genitive in space, but limited by occupancy satan had a legal right to the earth until Christ won it thru the Cross. For this reason he could truly tempt Christ by offering it to Him if He would merely fall down and worship Him. Christ did not deny that satan could actually turn over the title deed to the earth... see notes on Rev 5.1 |

18 | scriptual suport for Ezekiel 14:14 | Ezek 14:1 | teragram123 | 55293
read the context of the verse... 14:13-23 God’s people are expected to be righteous... all unrighteousness will be cut off... all that refuse the truth of the Gospel... God has not changed. He dealt with man differently in the OT... but the sin HE hates has not changed... all unrighteousness will be punished. To say we are saved by grace places us under great Responsibility to do what our LORD desires... at all cost. Those that say they are Christians and walk in darkness and sin are deceived and even God is their enemy... 2 Thes. 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. [11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. [13] But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Sin is a mock of Christianity... Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. [8] For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Some say well God sees my heart... Amen to that... and a righteous heart shows forth in a righteous life... Proverbs 20:11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. Peter preached righteousness to be accepted by God and not merely saying by grace am I saved... Acts 10:34-35 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: [35] But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. Paul told the church to “cut off” sinning saints not say they are merely saved by grace... 1 Cor. 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. Our lives are to reflect Christ to the world... Col. 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. True believer do the word... not only hear it... James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. The fool hears the pure gospel but does not live pure lives... Matthew 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: The only ones to be blessed are the doers of the word... Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. The Pharisees were hypocrites not doing righteousness... merely trusting grace alone to save them... Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. James clearly tells us that Grace without a righteous life is worthless... James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.... 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? The righteous will do the deeds of righteousness, not merely fulfill their flesh and say they have faith in grace... Matthew 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? Grace manifests in a life that has truely been effected by GRACE... Grace reigns through righteousness! Sin brings death... Grace brings a righteous life with a reward of eternal life... Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. If Christ and His HOLY Spirit truly dwells within our heart... it will show in our lives... Philip. 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Grace shows it's self in a born again life thru righteousness... sin is a reproach to a nation, church or a believer. Grace endues with power to do God's will and deny my own will. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. GRACE - charis Greek 5463 the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; |

19 | Satan.. man or not? | Ezek 28:12 | teragram123 | 57019
Ezekiel 28:12-14 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. [13] Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. [14] Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Ezekiel 28:15-18 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. [16] By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. [17] Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. [18] Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. Ezekiel 28:19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. These verse seem to describe an earthly King... ruled by a spirit being... king of Tyre - Ithobalus II; cp - Ezekiel 28:2 Most of the verses describe a being that seems clearly to be supernatural... one would have to stretch the imagination to say they describe a mere mortal. This is more easily seen in comparison to the account in the book of Revelation in the accounts pertaining to the Anti-Christ who will rule as a mortal fully possessed by the spirit of satan. |

20 | Isn't adultrey grounds for divorce? | Hosea | teragram123 | 58114
Adultery is not the unpardonable sin, but Christians have made it so... accept if it is for ourselves that is... than we of course plead grace and mercy. Adultery is grounds for forgiveness and walking out our vows. It seems that when we want out of our marriage adultery is just an excuse for un-forgiveness and hardness of the heart. If we can't stay with someone who has been unfaithful to us, can we expect forgiveness for our own failings. Isn’t it obvious that people leave one spouse to join another... though that person may have been unfaithful to their mate... yet we “forgive” the sin and marry them. Why not admit to the hardness of the heart and pray for forgiveness instead of breaking your vows. |
