2 | Bible version can become an idol? | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 117766
Definitely, a Bible version can become an idol especially if the particular version strays away from the truth of the Word of God and is used for personal motives. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 says, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." There are many versions of the Bible and just as many stray far away from the truth. This surely is not God's motive, but man's doing. The Bible was written in two languages: Hebrew and Greek. In studying, along with the power of the Holy Ghost ("Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come." John 13:15), use a concordance that breaks down the Hebrew (Old Testament) and Greek (New Testament). However, to answer your question, there are souls out there that would rather believe what a man has written in the recent past than what the Spirit of God has spoken in eternity past. Anything, or anyone, you put before God is idolatrous. WalkingTalkingBible |

3 | If you rape a virgin then she must mary | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 118134
Deuteronomy 22:25 is when a woman is raped (and the man force her) as opposed to verse 28 (hold - the Hebrew word "taphas" means to handle) does not mean rape. In the meantime, don't cast your pearls before the swine! Are these unbelievers trying to get answers for the sake of wanting to be saved or are they trying to discredit God and you?? Remember, the servant of the Lord must not strive. . . WalkingTalkingBible |

4 | How long should a person fast? | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 118151
There's no set length of time to fast. As children of God, we know we need to fast often to keep the flesh under the subjection of the will of God. When you plan to fast, set the length - 24 hours, 3 days, a week, etc. Then stick to it. Also, some fast from certain things: TV, foods, different activities. We know that Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights (Matthew 4:2). Sometimes on a long fast, I may plan to drink water every 6 or 12 hours, but that's me and that's not everytime I fast. It's whatever you're lead to do (by the Holy Ghost). Plan also to study and meditate on the Word while you are fasting. If you are fasting to hear from God, or to get closer to Him, even maybe to kill out something ungodly you found in yourself, you want your fast to be successful. After you begin to fast, you'll be more comfortable in setting your length. I hope this helps some, WalkingTalkingBible WalkingTalkingBible |

5 | The age of accountability | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 118153
This is a very good question. I like to say, "Mind of accountability" because salvation doesn't really have an age limit. When a young soul can understand that God is a living being, along with being able to acknowledge that he/she is a sinner, then he/she is accountable. If that soul never comes to know God, then he/she will separated from God eternally. But a little one who cannot understand this and has no idea even what sin is, won't be held accountable when he/she dies. These souls will see God. This brings to mind Revelation 20:12, "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." 6 | soul of unsaved people | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 118154
This soul will immediately be separated eternally from God. It will go to hell (Hades/Sheol) which is like a "holding place" until the final judgment. Then, it's to the Lake of Fire (eternal separation from God). WalkingTalkingBible |

8 | Did God create all evil in Isa. 45:5-7 | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 119096
The evil spoken of in Isaiah 45:5-7 is calamity, as physical and not moral. We have no control over tornadoes, earthquakes, some sicknesses, etc. We do have the choice to sin or not. God didn't let Satan take over the world, man did by sinning against God. When God created man, He created him in His image (Jesus) and His likeness (without sin) and gave him dominion over everything on earth (Genesis 26-28). When man sinned, dominion was lost to the devil and the sin separated man from God (Isaiah 59:2). Because of His love for man, Jesus gave His life so that man can be reconciled back to God if he chooses Him as Savior. WalkingTalkingBible |

9 | IM PREACHING ON SUNDAY!!................ | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 119194
Hi, SAZ! I know what you're dealing with. Last year I had to teach about being single and saved, and I didn't know what to say. So, first, I asked God to give me what He wanted me to tell His people (He, only, knows what they need to hear). Then I fasted, and as I fasted, I wrote down what I had learned from God being single and saved. Then, I received my message (the same day I was going to speak) and many received it. I think what is most important is that you rely on God to give you want He wants you to preach. Use your own experiences as a young single Christian and don't worry about what you think they might want to hear. For Scripture, I would use 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 6:4, and Luke 1:37. I would back those up with the story of Rahab, the harlot who was saved, and her family (Joshua 2; 6:17,23-25; Hebrews 11:31) and the conversion of Saul (*to Paul, Acts 9). These are just what I would use, God may give you something totally different. I'm praying with you, WalkingTalkingBible |

10 | is dating right in gods eyes | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 119258
My brother just got married on the 17th of this month to a beautiful woman of God. When he came to Christ a year ago, he came with a broken heart. He told me that he wanted a wife, a real woman to love him. I told him that since he was saved now that God would like for him to have a saved wife and to ask God for a wife (as opposed to searching in the world for one). Five months later, my brother says that God told him who his wife was. One of the young evangelist also became very interested in my brother and later she told me that God had spoken to her and said that this guy was her husband (she didn't even know that he was my brother). They began dating and in one year, they are now married. I think the most important thing is to wait on God. Also, as Rowdy advised, stick to Christians. God says in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel (unbeliever)? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." Since the Bible doesn't deal with dating directly, we have to know our God. He wants us to trust Him for everything and He wants to be first in our lives. If the motive for dating is to find a soul mate, then I would advise you to ask and wait on God because He wants you to be happy and He will prepare you for your mate and prepare your mate for you. If you are dating someone who God has sent you, then you're getting to know each other. "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD." Proverbs 18:22 I hope this helps. WalkingTalkingBible |

13 | marriage annulment | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 121125
Hi, Biblegrlx, a marriage annulment is a legal annuling or making void of a marriage between a husband and a wife who have not consummated their marriage. I don't know what is "legal" in some churches today (seems like everything), but God's Word says in Matthew 19:3-6, 9: "The Pharisees also came unto Him, tempting Him, and saying unto Him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And He answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain (two) shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain (two), but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery." 14 | Can a man be with another man | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 121972
Hi, Towanda. God has given every human on this earth his/her own free will which means that the things we do, the lives we live are according to the choices we make. However, someone who has chosen Christ as Savior and has chosen to do the will of God, chooses the things of God via guidance of the Holy Ghost. A man can be with another man, but this is not of God. Leviticus 20:13 (Amplified Version) says, "If a man lies with a male as if he were a woman, both men have committed an offense (something perverse, unnatural, abhorrent, and detestable); they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." According to Leviticus 18:22, homosexuality is an abomination to God: "You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination." This is not just an Old Testament teaching. It is written in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, "Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality, Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God." Can a man? Yes, he does what he will to please his lustful desires. Should a man? No, it's against God. The same goes for women who participate in homosexuality. Does this answer your question? 16 | Determining when an answer is received | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 122851
Hi, Aba, along with the responses that EdB and Angel have given, I would say that it is important to wait patiently for God to answer. "Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass." Psalm 37:7 Also, what we ask for must be in the will of God (I'm not saying that you're asking for something outside of God's will). "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:" 1 John 5:14 Remember that the promises that God has for us already exists. We have to be prepared to receive them. Check out the children of Israel, they were promised the land flowing with milk and honey, but they could not receive that promise in their current condition. That's why they were in the wilderness for forty years - for preparation. So, be encouraged that whatever you've asked of God, He's preparing you to receive it. While you're waiting, ask God to examine you, to see if you're possessing something (spiritually or naturally) that may be hindering your blessing. Do not doubt! Stand, steadfastly, on the Word of God. "For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord." James 1:6b-7 Finally, thank Him because by faith, you know it's done. If doubt comes to mind, thank Him. If you get weary while waiting on your answer, thank Him, in all things, give thanks. This will keep you in faith and from doubting. WalkingTalkingBible |

18 | (What is one to think???) | Bible general Archive 2 | WalkingTalkingBible | 134381
While God doesn't need us to defend Him or His Word, you must take this one thought into consideration (and if you don't, it's thank you, Jesus, anyhow). Whether YOU believe God and the Bible to be true is irrelevant. Whether you believe or not, God is going to exist and His Word will exist even after you have passed on. God loves you and has great plans for your life. You have a choice to make: if you want to be free from sin, choose Jesus. If you don't choose Jesus, just stay the same, even though I don't advise you to do that. I'm just letting you know that just because you don't believe, understand, or accept God or the Bible, doesn't make Him go away, not exist, or His Word void. You can have the truth if you want it. If not, and you can take this anyway you want, you will be eternally separated from God. WalkingTalkingBible |

20 | Did Jesus actually go to Hell? | NT general Archive 1 | WalkingTalkingBible | 117836
Hi Preacherlee98, In Ephesians 4:8-10, Paul was inspired to write about the ascension and descension of Jesus. Verse 8 states that Jesus "led captivity captive." Before Jesus' death, there was no reconciliation between God and man, so all souls were taken captive by the enemy, even in death. So, when Jesus gave His life as the ultimate sacrifice for sin, He is the way for man to be reconciled back to God. All of the souls in hell were not unbelievers. So Jesus led the believers out of captivity, into the presence of God (see Luke 16). The unsaved (unbelievers) remained in hell. Jesus obtained the keys of death and hell (Revelation 1:18) because He gave His life. Also, in 1 Peter 3:18-19, we see Jesus going to preach to the spirits in prison, which is hell. I hope this helps you out. WalkingTalkingBible |
