How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. (1Co 14:26 KJVR) Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying. (2Co 12:19 KJVR) I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh, with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. (1Co 14:5 KJVR) Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. (1Co 14:12 KJVR) Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. (Rom 14:19 KJVR) Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. (1Th 5:11 KJVR) --- And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (Eph 4:11-12 KJVR) From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (Eph 4:16 KJVR) Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. (Eph 4:29 KJVR) |

4 | fact or literary device? | Gen 18:21 | Thomas8 | 88631
You pose a very good question. It reminds me of: (Gen 11:7 KJV) Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. Does God actually come down as indicated by speaking to Adam or Abraham? |

6 | Age of accountability? | Is 7:16 | Thomas8 | 204078
My opinion is that the concept sounds like ... For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, (Isa 7:16 KJV) |

7 | A Loving GOD Who Hates | Mal 1:3 | Thomas8 | 191195
Doesn't the balance of the passage define 'hate?' "...and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. Mal 1:4 Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation forever." |

9 | why is Acts 2:44 not practiced today | Acts 2:44 | Thomas8 | 107705
Corinth shows... (1Co 3:3 KJVA) For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? Wouldn't the following apply to denominations... (1Co 3:4 KJVA) For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? How many churches do we pass going to church? How many people join monastries? How many people have gone, sold what they have and given it to the poor? |

11 | Is it ok to eat animals for food | Acts 10:13 | Thomas8 | 107686

12 | Christians living in unbroken carnality? | Rom 8:7 | Thomas8 | 88789
The following might apply... (1 Cor 3:1 KJV) And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. (1 Cor 3:3 KJV) For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? (1 Cor 3:4 KJV) For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? |

13 | Does consciousness vanish at death? | Phil 1:23 | Thomas8 | 205040
Here are two examples on the subject that I do not find discussed when addressing the issue. 1) I have vivid dreams when I sleep. 2) During a minor surgery I was alive and TOTALLY unconscience (unaware) of anything. Are these illustrations ever used to support anything? I have not seen them. |

14 | who are the chosen,elect, and faithfull? | Col 1:2 | Thomas8 | 222031
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. (Revelation 17:14 KJV) I'm thinking that called, chosen and faithful are the same people...the saints ... For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. (1 Thessalonians 4:14 KJV) |

17 | I need examples of a good reputation | 3 John 1:12 | Thomas8 | 202062
3Jn 1:12 KJVR (12) Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true. False witnesses would lie about believers and it was important that there be no foundation whatsoever for it. Those that knew the accused would know his character and how much credance to give any accusation. |

18 | Rule with rod iron - who rules who? | Rev 2:27 | Thomas8 | 204157
Hi Makarios, I value your message, esp the references. In my opinion, start reading at v 26 about the believer and then you get .. And he (the believer) shall rule them with a sceptre (rod) of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, and [his (the believer's) power over them shall be] like that which I Myself have received from My Father; The believer's power shall be like Jesus'. I would truly value any comments on the Greek if the 'he' does or does not relate back to verse 26. |

"Consider: the 144,000 sealed of Rev 7 will be chosen from the tribes of Israel. But according to Rev 14:4, this group of 144,000 are redeemed. They were "purchased,” (bought with the blood of Jesus) "from every tribe and tongue and people and nation." See Rev 5:9." Hi Mommapbs, Are you saying the 144,000 of ch 7 are not redeemed? Are you making the distinction on that one word? Bless you. |
