2 | Are we expected to keep the sabath? | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 42241
Hi Elisah I look at it this way the commandment was written in stone,you cannot erase it out of stone. the only way to get something out of stone is to break it. So unless you are doing a work for God on the sabath,teaching, ministering etc.,you are breaking the commandment. Paster Scott brings up a good point Christ is our rest,but resting in Christ is doing His work. If you look in the OT the preists were exempt from the sabbath because they did the works of God.MT.12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? 4 | How did sin originate | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 43881
Hi new creature you asked How did sin originate? I look at it like this:GEN.3:1-7 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden. Who is this serpent that is so subtil ( crafty , sly , shrewd ) and has the gift of speech? Unregenerated man ( man without Christ in his life ). Who else but man has the gift of speech , and can reason. You may say a parrot can talk but can it reason? Balaams ass spoke but it was God that opened her mouth NU.22:28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam. Nowhere is it said that God opened the mouth of the serpent. This serpent has the gift of speech and can still talk and reason today. Now some have said that the serpent lost its gift of speech as part of its punishment , but nowhere in the bible does it say this. Therefore we must conclude that the serpent can still talk today. Who else is this then but Unregenerated man. Now this serpent ( man ) comes and reasons with the woman to deceive her into disobedience to Gods command. Now in order to understand how the woman was deceived we have to look at what God says concerning the tree of Knowledge of good and evil. GEN.2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. What is this tree that can bring death to man? Now we know that death comes because of sin RO.5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin. Therefore we can see that it is sin that brings death to man , but what brings us the knowledge of what sin is? The law. RO.3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Therefore the tree of knowledge of good and evil is the law for by eating of the tree death entered into the world. Now is the knowledge of good and evil ( the law ) sin RO.7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. So then if the eating of the law was not sin what was? Was it not in the breaking of the commandment THOU SHALT NOT, the fruit itself was not the sin , for after God created all the trees He saw that it was good.Gen.1:12 So then why did God command man not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil if there was nothing sinful in the fruit. Is it not because God placed a covering over man in the commandment THOU SHALT NOT , so that man would not see his sinful nature (remember man was created outside of the garden ) because when man sees himself though the eyes of a righteous God his sins overwhelm him and he runs and hides from God , just as Adam hid himself when his eyes became open. Where else do we find the phase THOU SHALT NOT is it not in the commandments that God set down for all men. (Ten commandments ) Therefore the phase THOU SHALT NOT is a commandment of covering , if we listen to it we do not eat of our sinful nature, but we have a foreshadowing of the covering that Jesus Christ gives us. Therefore it was not the eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil that was mans sin but the breaking of the commandment THOU SHALT NOT. Now as to Lucifer I have heard 3 differant points of view on who he was 1st Satan, 2nd Adam ,3rd the Antichrist. I think the scriptures rule out Satan because we no that by man sin entered into the world.So I think it to be the 2nd or 3rd option. I myself lean towards the Antichrist. |
||||||
5 | What do you base this on? | Bible general Archive 1 | Sctt | 44118
Hi Raven I'll try to explain the 3 options as best I can. The first 2 i'll just touch on as I myself lean towards the antichrist. The 3 opinion will be in more detail.Lets start by looking at who Lucifer is , he is called the king of Babylon Is.14:4 and he is said to be a man verse 16. Now if Lucifer is Satan how come he is called a man? nowhere in the bible that I know of does it call Satan a man. So this rules out Satan being Lucifer. Now as to Lucifer being Adam it is taken from Eze.28:12-19 says thou hast been in Eden the garden of God,and speaks of the day thou wast created. Now we know Adam was indeed in the garden of Eden,and we know that he was created. Now because the word created is used here and God only created Adam (all others are born,their reasoning not mine) It is believed that this can only be Adam. But God uses the word created for more then just Adam as seen in Ps.102:18, Is.43:7,21:30,and Mal.2:10. So you can see the reasoning behind those that believe this to be Adam. Now as to the antichrist which is who I believe this to be. Is.14:13-14 Lucifer says in his heart I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Now read 2Thes.2:3-10 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Are they not speaking of the same person. Now lets look in Eze.28:11-16 I will give way to Adam Clarke on this part as he understands Hebrew far better then I. Verse 12. Thou sealest up] This has been translated, "Thou drawest thy own likeness."Thou formest a portrait of thyself;and hast represented thyself the perfection of wisdom and beauty." I believe this to be the meaning of the place. Verse 13. Thou hast been in Eden] This also is a strong irony.Thou art like Adam, when in his innocence and excellence he was in the garden of Eden! Every precious stone was thy covering] Verse 14. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth] The irony is continued; and here he is likened to the CHERUB that guarded the gates of Paradise, and kept the way of the tree of life; or to one of the cherubs whose wings, spread out, covered the mercy-seat. Thou mast upon the holy mountain of God] The irony is still continued; and now he is compared to Hoses, and afterwards to one of the chief angels, who has walked up and down among the stones of fire; that is, thy floors have been paved withprecious stones, that shone and sparkled like fire. Verse 15. Thou wast perfect in thy ways] The irony seems still to be kept up. Thou hast been like the angels, like Moses, like the cherubs, like Adam, like God, till thy iniquity was found out. From Adam Clarkes commentary on Eze.28:12-15. Now look at this in the light of Is.14:12-14 and 2Thes.2:3-10 do they not all point to the antichrist. All scripture taken from KJV. In Christ Scott. |

Paul i now this is an old note that you posted but i'm new to this site and just came across it. I've read the correspondences you have had with others. and would like to add my take on this subject. Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman ,Yea, hath God said Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden. Who is this serpent that is so subtil ( crafty,sly, shrewd) and has the gift of speech? The LAW Ro.3:20 therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight:for by the LAW is the KNOWLEDGE of sin.Therefore the tree of knowledge of good and evil is the law for by eating of the tree death entered into the world.Now is the knowledge of good and evil (law ) sin?Ro7:7 What shall we say then? is the law sin? God forbid.Nay i had not known sin but by the law:for I had not known lust,except the law had said Thou shalt not covet.So then if eating of the law was not sin what was? Was it not in the breaking of the commandment THOU SHALT NOT. The fruit itself was not the sin ,for after God created all the trees He saw that it was good Gen.1:12 So then why did God command man not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil if there was nothing sinful in its fruit? 10 | Cain and Seth's wives descended from who | Genesis | Sctt | 44777
Hi linjmer You asked were did Cains wife come from? Lets look at what the bible says.Gen.2:7 says And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;and man became a living soul. 1CO.15:45 explains this to be the first man Adam , And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Now what else in verse 7 shows this to be the natural man , it says that he was formed of the dust of the ground. Now the word formed comes from the Hebrew word yatsar meaning to squeeze or mold into shape , it has the same meaning as the word potter in JER.18:6. Therefore you can see that we are to be molded as the potter molds the clay , but molded into what? The image of God. and you cannot obtain His image except though Christ. Lets look back to see when natural man was created.Gen.1:24 It says And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind , now this living creature is the natural man ( mankind with all the different races) for the words living creature and living soul have the same meaning , they come from the same Hebrew words chay (living)and nephesh (creature) , soul. Now the word nephesh has this meaning in the Hebrew , 1 soul, self, life, creature, person, appetite, mind, living being, desire, emotion, passion 1a that which breathes, the breathing substance or being, soul, the inner being of man 1b living being 1c living being (with life in the blood) 1d the man himself, self, person or individual 1e seat of the appetites 1f seat of emotions and passions 1g activity of mind 1g1 dubious 1h activity of the will 1h1 dubious 1i activity of the character 1i1 dubious Strong's lexicon Therefore you can see by this that the living creature and the living soul are both man. Now that we know that man was created a living creature and there were more then just one man and one woman created lets look at Cain and his wife. GEN.4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. Here we have another question that must be asked , where did Cain’s wife come from ? This is a question most commentaries skip over because of the problem that it creates. And that problem is that Cain’s wife must have been his sister , as there were only Adam and Eve to populate the earth. This then would indicate that incest was okayed by God , but we know from Lev.18:9 And 20:17 that we are not to have sexual relationships with our sisters. Other commentaries state that in the beginning before God gave his laws that incest was okey because there wouldn’t have been any polluted genes. But if God hates incest now he would have hated it then for MAL.3:6 says For I am the LORD, I change not... Now we can do away with this problem of where Cains wife comes from if we look back to what was said before concerning the living creature in GEN.1:24. and that is the living creature is all the different races of mankind. Therefore Cains wife comes form one of these different races of man. This not only takes away the confusion of where Cains wife come from but also takes God of the hook of being the originator ( by implication because he only created Adam and Eve ) of incest.In Christ Scott All scripture taken from the KJV. |

14 | is man still being created in God's ima | Gen 1:26 | Sctt | 45160
Hi ladyk The Gen. account of Adam being in the image of God was a prophesy of Christ. Let me explain were I'm comming from. GEN.1:26 Let us make man in our image , after our likeness. The question has to be asked what does God look like if man is to be made in his image? Jn.4:24 says God is a spirit , now we know that a spirit has no material body so how then are we too be made in his image? The image that man is to have is the reflection of God. When God looks at us he must see himself , just as when we look in a mirror and see ourself. This then is the image of God , I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. When God sees this we are in his image. What then can be said about “ after our likeness”? Likeness and image go together , you cannot have one without the other. Likeness is to have Gods nature , and you cannot have Gods image without his nature. Now I must ask you did the first man Adam have Gods image and likeness? If you believe he did then I must ask how then did he sin? We know that God cannot sin and if Adam had all Gods attributes how did he sin? Therefore we must look for one who was made with the image and likeness of God. The man Jesus Christ is the only one who fits the description , and we now though him will be made also into the image and likeness of God. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 1CO.15:45. Therefore we have the first prophecy of the coming of Jesus Christ our Lord “ Let us make man in our image , after our likeness”. GEN.1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Verse 27 shows that God was indeed looking forward to Jesus Christ when he said “ lets make man in our image , after our likeness , for he says he created them male and female and we know that only in Christ Jesus is male and female made one. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. GAL.3:28. Now lets look at male and female separately , you can see a time difference between when they were made. How much time? the bible does not say , but Adam had time to name all the living creatures that God had made before woman was created. This could have been a twenty four hour day , or a month or even years , for God created the living creatures in abundance. Male and female were created in Gods image , but because we can see there is a time difference between when they were created we can see that God was looking ahead when he said male and female created he them. To what time was he looking forward? To the time of the cross of Christ , were male and female will no longer be separated but joined together in Christ. One more thought to show that this is not Adam that God created in his own image , but a looking forward to Jesus Christ that is the fulfillment of the scripture. JN.3:31 , 34-35 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 1CO.15:45-49 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Thank God that in Christ we can now fulfill the scripture in the image of God created he him ; male and female created he them. Therefore we have the first prophecy of man being made into Gods image through Christ Jesus. So we can see that verses 26 and 27 is a prophecy of Christ and us in Christ. All scripture from KJV. No man before Christ was made in the image of God ,this includes the natural man (Adam) In Christ Scott |

15 | Was the serpent satan or just a serpent? | Gen 3:1 | Sctt | 44709
Hi Chynna The serpent is unregenerated man (man without Christ in his life)Heres my reasoning. GEN.3:1-7 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. Therefore it was not the eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil that was mans sin but the breaking of the commandment THOU SHALT NOT.In Christ Scott |

16 | Are the Nephilim descendants of Adam? | Gen 6:4 | Sctt | 46059
Hi sparrow This might help.Gen2 Verse 7 says And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Now this is not a retelling of Ch.1:26-27 for this is speaking of the natural man or the first man Adam. You can see from verse 7 that man was formed of the dust of the ground , that God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 1CO.15:45 explains this to be the first man Adam , And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Now does this sound like he ( Adam) was made in the image of God? No , because 1Co.15:45 places a difference between living soul ( Adam ) and quickening spirit ( Christ ). Therefore verse 7 is speaking of the natural man. The image of God! and you cannot obtain His image except though Christ. We have in verse 7 the first time the word LORD appears in connection with man. Now we Know that the LORD is in reference to Christ our redeemer and deliverer as seen in IS.53:1-12. So then we can see that man is to be redeemed though Christ. Now how is this natural man to be made into the image of God? First we have to go back to Gen.1:24 to see when the natural man was created. It says And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind , now this living creature is the natural man ( mankind with all the different races ) for the words living creature and living soul have the same meaning , they come from the same Hebrew words chay- living and nephesh - creature , soul. Now the word nephesh has this meaning in the Hebrew , 1) soul, self, life, creature, person, appetite, mind, living being, desire, emotion, passion 1a) that which breathes, the breathing substance or being, soul, the inner being of man 1b) living being 1c) living being (with life in the blood) 1d) the man himself, self, person or individual 1e) seat of the appetites 1f) seat of emotions and passions 1g) activity of mind 1g1) dubious 1h) activity of the will 1h1) dubious 1i) activity of the character 1i1) dubious strong's lexicon Therefore you can see by this that the living creature and the living soul are both man. Now it can be argued that animals have all these attributes , this is true and man without God is a brute beast JUDE:8 Therefore the living creature created in GEN.1:24 is mankind. Lets look at the creature in the New Testament MK.16:15 says Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. COL.1:14 says that Jesus is the firstborn of every creature. 2CO.5:17 says Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Read RO.1:1-32 and see what man is like without Christ in his life. Therefore we can see by these scriptures that man was not made in the image of God until Christ came. You can see by this that more then one race of man was created in the beginning. There is you answer to who are the Nephilim.In Christ Scott |

Hi colan4 1Cor.15:51-54 This is a favorite scripture to quote by those that believe in the rapture. 51Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. Lets look at the trumpet that sounds when does it sound? At the LAST TRUMP.Take note that this is also a MYSTERY. Now lets look at another of their favorites. 1Th.4:16-18 16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Now some who believe in the rapture say the last trump is spoken of in these verses as if this explains something about the rapture. This is referring to the last trump , but what it has to do with the rapture I don’t know. The last trump to sound is sounded by the seventh angel in Rev.10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. Take note of the word sound it comes from the Greek word SALPIZO to trumpet , sound a blast, from Strong’s exhaustive concordance of the bible. Now this is the seventh angel to sound, look at what happens when the first six sound their trumpets , does this look like we will be raptured out of this world before the tribulation? Also it says that when the seventh angel begins to sound the MYSTERY of God should be finished. What mystery? the mystery that Paul spoke of in 1Co.15:51 We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. Look at 1Co.15:54 when are these things to come to pass ? When DEATH is swallowed up in victory ? 1Co.15:26 26The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. This is when death is swallowed up in victory. Now for those people that believe in a rapture explain why death is still around after the rapture , as verse 54 says ...Death is swallowed up in victory. NOTE: We will go though the tribulation thats why we must put on the whole armour of God Eph.6:13 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. |

20 | John the Batist's Beheading? | Matt 14:9 | Sctt | 41711
Hi johnnyboy I think John said it best in his own words Jn.3:30 He must increase,but I must decrease.You see the people in that day thought John might be the Messiah ,and people from all over came to listen to him but God said in Mark.9:7 ...This is my beloved son,meaning Jesus:hear him. The full weight of the gospel could only come from Jesus Christ,not from Moses,Elias or John the baptist.Hear him. In Christ Scott. |
