1 | SPOUSE OR CHILD? | Bible general Archive 2 | Jayram | 94582
Not at all, the Bible teaches that in 1 Tim 5v8, that we need to take care of our family otherwise we are worse than unbelievers... 1 Tim 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. If you are one of the children..Jesus said I shall not forsake you..and God can change all situations...
2 | Providing with Life Assurance-Biblical? | Bible general Archive 2 | Jayram | 94704
May I quote you 1 Tim 5v 8, where the Bible teaches us that WE should take care of people of our household, and that task is endowed to us here. Of course God will assist us in so doing, and if we use our faith. And so goes for the church. Can't God provide for his own church, but He expects us to contribute by giving to the Church. His attitude is not faith but folly. By contributing to a life assurance, he is saving for the people of his household. He ought to let his wife decide for her own faith with God. But the brother ought to do what is right for him, ie provide for the people of his household, otherwise he would be worse that unbelievers. Hope that helps. Also pray before talking to him. The Holy Spirit will guide you through and will put the right words in your mouth when speaking to him. There is no more difficult interviewee that someone who is convinced he is in the right. |

3 | Women Preachers? Yes or No? | Bible general Archive 2 | Jayram | 94711
My views are that the law of the land of that time did not allow women to be in any sort of authority. "It is not permitted"...would normally refer to a general and known fact that women are not to be leaders of that time. The ensuing recommendations are in pursuance to that fact.
4 | Why is tithing yet preached today? | Lev 27:30 | Jayram | 94696
It is my belief that if we put tithing as a REQUIREMENT, then it does not have its place. This does not mean that Christians should not tithe, as the promises accompanying tithing are multiple. However, tithing gives to Christians a minimum to give away. In such a matrialistic world, money has become such a sensitive issue. Let me take you to Matt 7:2 "For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. This follows the remark that Our Lord made about that woman who gave all she had...God is not interested with absolute, HE already is. What He is interested in is the VALUE. He asked Abraham for his ONLY son in sacrifice. Was he interested in any son, NO. Tithing is not only about money, but also about EVERYTHING. Are we ready to give to God AT MINIMUM our 1/10 of our BEST????
5 | who was the deciple whom Jesus loved | John 13:33 | Jayram | 94579
This is a funny question, I refer to the short one. This title is referred to John, but never has Jesus said or done to infer that He loved John better. John had a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus, and he was the last one to leave Jesus when He was on the cross. Because he maintained that relationship - closeness and ready to listen- that he was labelled as the disciple that Jesus loved. I think this should be every believers' crave - to be labelled as the one who Jesus Loves..
6 | Don't come back I ask you to stay home | Rom 16:17 | Jayram | 99264
Wilbo, confusion comes the devil and that is how he tries to break the Church. Sometimes we tend to over react at a shocking news, but with some stepping back we are able to get a better perspective of the words of the PAstor. If we analyse the PAstor's words, he said if you are animated with the evil spirit of creating confusion, then it would be better for you to stay at home and come back only if you have sorted out your thoughts..Does that sound better? If it is, then it is what in substance the Pastor was trying to say. let me tell you one thing I have learnt...we as a congregation, we are as strong as our WEAKEST link..I think that the Pastor realsies it and, albeit not so kindly, but is trying to drive home to you that that Unity and HArmony of thoughts (Oneness) is VITAL. Lets us assume for one second that the PAstor is in the wrong, then as a Christian your duty is to pray for him and continuously do so and speak to him, in love and in a constructive spirit. Going would be an own goal, to use the soccer term. ANd believe me we are opening ourselves as easy prey for the devil. |

8 | People's revelation only an inspiration? | 2 Tim 2:15 | Jayram | 138977
You are right that All Scripture is inspired, but that does not mean that everything that is inspired is Scripture...it can be based on Scripture.
