1 | prayers for healing | Bible general Archive 4 | DPMartin | 233765
Jwpawpaw A lot of people say and even preach what you have said as far as repetitive or continuously praying for something, would be a lack of faith, which would make some think that is the reason why a prayer isn’t answered. No doubt the Lord looks to Faith with Grace, but consider this. If you where in combat and constantly day in and day out under attack and ducking in to a fox hole. Would you pray just once the first day? How many times would you be asking the Lord to deliver you and protect you, ask for the same thing? And you would certainly do so as long as you where under attack, and you were mortality was threatened. Would that be a lack of faith, or just knowing who to rely on, or ask? Therefore, how is this any different then some one that is ill day in and day out, and prays until he is healed? If you do not have, you continue to look to receive, but once received, you thank and do not look to receive any more. |

2 | a sweet savour | Bible general Archive 4 | DPMartin | 233994
Maybe you should ask yourself these questions, and if it is true that the Fire of the Holy Spirit be with you in power. Then maybe others would seek to know what you know, seeing that the Lord God approves and makes His Presence known to others around you. (you know, like Jesus) There are those who believe one must be a raging lunatic to be a “true” believer, and some times the same ether stays away from true believers, or practice acting like it to prove they are a true believer. |

3 | Am I going to Hell for attending UMC | Bible general Archive 4 | DPMartin | 234275
It is interesting how so many church goers know all about going to hell, and who’s going to be there, ( I guess they don’t what to be the only ones, or maybe its out of jealousy because they know they are going) and know nothing of going to Heaven and who’s going to be there. When it comes to going to hell and who is and isn’t going. Remember this, in Revelations the Lord shows John that He has the keys to the gate of hell in His hand. Therefore no one goes to hell unless the Lord says they do. |

5 | What does the bible say about homosexual | Bible general Archive 4 | DPMartin | 234277
Leviticus chapters 18 and 20 discuses what is not acceptable, and it is the Lord God saying so. I can’t find it but if my memory serves, the Lord has also stated in the OT (could be the Torah) that the Lord will not and does not walk with men who lie with men. Apostle Paul has made mention of what is unseemly in Rom:1:27. Back in Paul’s day it was common, and some parents would give their children to men of power for such things, to gain a better life for themselves. Today’s society is being fooled into thinking it's progressive, but the truth is, its regressing back to its ways back then. |

6 | where does it say we have to chosen min. | Bible general Archive 4 | DPMartin | 234379
EdB is correct, Apostle Paul was a good example of this. In Damascus he preached and confounded the Jews until they sot to destroy him, while not associated with any particular ministry. And it was Barnabas who brought Paul before the Apostles for approval to be in the Ministry at Jerusalem. (Act:9) Hence at the approval of the Apostles. If the Lord Jesus set’s a church in the hands of a person then that person or persons are to ok any activity associated to that ministry. It is presumed that these who work in the name of the Lord seek the Lord’s guidance or directing on all matters. That is a presumption, but not necessarily true in all cases. |

12 | Did Christ teach "freedom of religions"? | Bible general Archive 4 | DPMartin | 234587
No, absolutely not, there is only one Living God Creator and Judge that is to be worshiped. Which is the teaching through out the Bible and of Christ Jesus. Religions, theologies, “isms”, and philosophies are all something man made. The Life that mankind is suppose to have, is of God through the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s not religion, its Life. Jesus (Word of God that lives and gives Life) came from God into the world, (Son of man) like any other son of man, and left the world like a criminal, but His resurrection is for ever. He came into the world to restore men and to save the soul’s of men who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord, the Son of God and their Savior. Just so you know, there is no religion in the Kingdom of Heaven. There is the Glory of the Lord our God and His People. |

13 | how do u learn from mistakes | Bible general Archive 4 | DPMartin | 234589
Not that I can think of, but its not rocket science that doing something the same way gets the same result. The blind leading the blind might apply (Mt:15:14) those that admire human nature and human character, might apply in this because the result of human nature or human character is death. Maybe one should admire the Lord God and His virtues. He inhabits eternity (Isa:57:15) and even of His Word there is Life, Life eternal.
14 | Is freedom of rights good then? | Bible general Archive 4 | DPMartin | 234595
If you asked those who suffered persecution back before the formation of the Catholic church what would they say? Or those who fled religious persecution and came to places like America. Surly it is nicer to go about freely without fear, but who deserves it, or who don’t deserve it? The world is what it is, and the powers that be in the world are given by God, but in who’s hands is that power? Those who are up right and seek to do justice, or those who do not. Jesus teaches to not embrace the things of the world, but embrace the things of Heaven. Persecuted in the world or not, Heaven is forever and the world is not. It is God who is good, and knows what is good for His created. |

15 | what is the purpose of a burnt offering | OT general | DPMartin | 234305
If it was known by Abel, and Cain that the Lord God is Spirit and not flesh and He is in Heaven which is not of earth, then how would they give something of earth into Heaven? And this was of value, considering the Lord God showed that He had respect for one and not the other. For what is valued here with Abel? Wouldn’t it be to have God’s ear, and favor, that He would even look to any man for any reason that is of God’s favor? Also note that God made it known that He heard the blood of Abel cry out to Him from the ground, so if one sot after that relationship that God would hear you even when one dies, they would do the same as Abel. Hence back in the day, it was the way to maintain that relationship, in the Presence of God in the Tabernacle. Needless to say from Abel to Noah to Abraham to Moses it was establish as the way to request of God, until the Lord Jesus came into the world. Whether it be thanksgiving, or atonement, and others mentioned in the Torah. There is a lot more to it then described here, but you would have to read it for yourself. |

16 | meaning of Ch. 7:1-13 song of solomon | OT general | DPMartin | 234591
Its Solomon’s admiration of a prince's daughter. And I can’t find it at this time, but there is a time at the end of Solomon’s forty year rule where he follows after the idols or gods of his wives. And the Lord God divides Israel into 10 and 2 tribes. Maybe the songs of Solomon are left in scripture for that reason.

18 | Sins against "human rights"? | NT general | DPMartin | 234052
As you are probably noticing, your expectations in human nature might be unwarranted, because what you expect to be in human nature, is not there. If your hope, (expectation) is in Christ, the Lord is able, even if you are incorrect about what expectations should be in the Lord. But trusting human nature is death, trusting the Lord Jesus Christ is Life, Life everlasting. You don’t have to condemn the world, and we are told by the Lord not to. The world drinks from the cup it loves, human nature. |

19 | How do you demonstrate contentment? | NT general | DPMartin | 234054
What if you are content with money, the spoils of ill gain, putting people in bondage to you and receiving moneys, so on and so forth? Your view of contentment is just that, your view, why don’t you ask the Lord Jesus what His view of what contentment is? It is a fool that thinks the Lord ought to think as the fool does. Jesus was content, why wasn’t those around Him content that He was there with them? Could it be that they were content to be with out God’s Presence with them in the world? |

20 | Jesus' death embody His ministry message | NT general | DPMartin | 234369
It all depends on, in who’s view. From the Lord Jesus’ view who was trying to be subversive to who’s governing? Jesus has the right/birth-right and He is Lord and Master. Who was trying to subvert who? Jesus being the Word of God who came into the flesh. The Word of God was already understood as the undisputed Lord and King of Israel. The Jewish leadership tried to prove that the Lord Jesus was not who He said He is. As far as the Romans, common sense would tell you they really didn’t care what Israelites believe, all they really cared about was their dominance in the region and maintaining that rule without calling out the troops from Rome. If it meant crucifying some one like Jesus to keep the peace then why wouldn’t they do so? Son of God , and Messiah is not something Romans cared about, unless it was something they had to deal with. There is no reason to believe that Pilot seen Jesus as a threat. On the contrary Pilot seen Jesus as a man that has done no wrong. It was the Jewish leadership that was the problem. Jesus was escorted into Jerusalem as the rightful King on Palm Sunday, (An Israeli tradition when a King of Israel is to take his place)which He is, that was what was being subverted, at least that is what the Jewish leadership thought they were doing, but in reality the Lord Jesus was offering Himself, by allowing these things to come to pass. Jesus came into the world as any son of man does and He left the world as one of the lowliest in the world does, but it is His Resurrection that is significant. His Ministry is about the Kingdom of Heaven of which there is Salvation, deliverance from death (His resurrection proving so) and Eternal Life that He has given us. |
