1 | Whst should we do to protect ourselves? | Luke | CDBJ | 242743
Greetings, Luke 22:36 (NASB) 36 And He said to them, "But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one. Today this would be construed as the best weapon for self defense, and that would be a handgun, concealed, and with the full knowledge of how to use it proficiently along with the proper CCW license and common knowledge of observation, i.e. cover your sixes. We are living in strange times to say the least; if these aren’t the last days they aren’t too far in the future. He who has an ear let him hear! Have a great day, CDBJ P.S. Check the history of what was known as the Moravian Indians in Ohio. They didn’t even try to defend them selves, being Christians, and as a result it put the message of salvation, i.e. The Gospel back numerous years before any Native Americans would have anything to do with it! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnadenhutten_massacre |

2 | ye are the salt of the earth and if the | NT general | CDBJ | 240267
Greetings, All that the forum members can do it communicate Scripture. It’s the responsibility of those hearing God’s Word to be receptive to the teaching of the Holy Spirit who is the real teacher. You should be asking the Father for understanding if you are one of His. John 6:45 (NKJV) It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. (JESUS) Those that aren't controlled by the filling of the Spirit while witnessing of the works of the Lord are operating in the energy of their flesh, i.e. the old sin nature, and have lost their effectiveness as it were like salt that fails to preserve. John 3:18 (AMP) 18 He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] (JESUS) is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation—he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ's name.] CDBJ |

3 | time lapse between Gen 1:1 and G | Gen 1:1 | CDBJ | 239772
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Your question is in regards to Gen: 1:2 and the length of time. Genesis 1:2 (NKJV) 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. This is a highly controversial subject in some Christian circles. “The earth was”, is actually translated from the Hebrew words, (tohu wabohu), which suggest that it became something different then how it was created. It literally became a garbage dump that stinks. This would explain what the agenda was of Satan when he was cast out of heaven along with one third of all the angles. What most refer to a six day of creation, with this theory in mind, would actually be six days of restoration so the earth would be sufficient for the life of mankind. Along with this thesis is what is called the concept of the angelic conflict as a means of settling the assumption by Lucifer, that a loving God couldn’t send any of his creation to a place of fire and brimstone for an eternity. The creation of mankind being lower then the angles, more or less, settles this misconception with out any doubt, which the following confirms about Satan’s useless rebuttal; Matthew 25:41 (NKJV) 41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: When ever an unbeliever believes in the finish work of Christ on the cross it resolves the angelic conflict and clarifies that God is not only a God of love but a God of absolute righteousness and justice, i.e. the essence of God’s Holyness. “What the righteousness of God demands the justice of God must execute!” Lucifer’s stay of execution is drawing to a rapid close when he and one third of the angel will be cast into the lake of fire along with all unbelievers at the white throne judgment. Romans 11:33-34 (NKJV) 33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! 34 "For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?" I will answer your question if you can answer the one that I have that leads to the one you have asked. God is omniscience, which is part of His essence; that being the case, that He is all knowing, why did God create Lucifer who God knew would become Satan and start the ball rolling with regards to all sin evil and deception? By answering my question yours will fall into place, CDBJ AGAIN: Romans 11:34 (NKJV) 34 "For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?" |

5 | 1st Samuel | Bible general | CDBJ | 239638
It is obvious that every time when God would punish the Israelites because they were negative toward God’s Word and disobedient that He would use their enemies to administer their discipline. America, as a nation has gone negative toward God’s desired will for them as a nation and as a result, America as a nation, has fallen under God’s punishment and it appears as though He is using their enemies, the Muslims to administer Americas just due. Galatians 6:7 (NKJV) 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. This holds true for a nation as well in principal! CDBJ |

6 | Will God forgive and accept me again? | NT general | CDBJ | 238747
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The main question is, do you believe what God says in His Word? You would best start off with, 1 John 1:9 (AMP) 9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]. The next step would be to memorize the following. 1 John 5:10-13 (AMP) 10 He who believes in the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] has the testimony [possesses this divine attestation] within himself. He who does not believe God [in this way] has made Him out to be and represented Him as a liar, because he has not believed (put his faith in, adhered to, and relied on) the evidence (the testimony) that God has borne regarding His Son. 11 And this is that testimony (that evidence): God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who possesses the Son has that life; he who does not possess the Son of God does not have that life. 13 I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God [in the peculiar services and blessings conferred by Him on men], so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life. It seems as though you are having a hard time believing what God says. What is truth, your feelings or what God says? Ephesians 1:13-14 (AMP) 13 In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit. 14 That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it—to the praise of His glory. Read the Gospel of John and trust in the promises that God presents! I hope you enjoy the forum and gain confidence in what the Word of God is telling you! CDBJ |

8 | where does the comma go? | Gal 1:3 | CDBJ | 238684
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The Bible in the original language of the New Testament didn’t use diacritical marks such as commas periods and so on. Diacritical marks are usually the result of an inferior language. The Koine Greek of the original Language, used by the New Testament, was able to accomplish the same function by the use of syntax. 9 | Praying for the dead? | Heb 9:27 | CDBJ | 238531
Greetings, The Bible points out very distinctly that ones eternal position is established and revealed by the knowledge of Bible doctrine; the sad part is that there are few, percentage wise, that bother to search for it in the pages of God’s Word. Here are a few of God’s promises that mankind can take to the bank starting with the most famous verse in Scripture. These verses are from the Amplified Bible which spells things out in common English. John 3:16 (AMP) 16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. John 3:18 (AMP) 18 He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation—he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ's name.] Here is the clincher which actually answers your question; take notice of the fact that those in this position are still alive at the time. Much to the contrary opinion humanity is only condemned because they have refused God’s provision for their eternal life, which is total trust in the work that Jesus did for them on the cross. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ's name.] “Religion” misinforms people into thinking that they have to do something in order to gain God’s favor; this is what the Bible refers to as works; Biblical proof in the following. Ephesians 2:8-9 (AMP) 8 For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; 9 Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law's demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.] When I learned the following verses, and claimed them as my own, they became the most precious verses in the Bible from my point of view! The answer to eternal life resides within the person of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, and apart from total undivided faith in Him and what He did for us on the cross no one will make it into heaven; observe what Jesus says in the following. John 14:6 (AMP) 6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me. Have a great day and I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

10 | once sasved always saved? | Luke 23:43 | CDBJ | 238205
Greetings and welcome to the forum. In regards to your question, let’s go at it from a different tack. If I am saved, and I am, by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ who died on the cross to pay the penalty for ALL my sins. This being said, it would be the optimum of arrogance and close to blaspheme for me to assume that I could possibly commit a sin that God didn’t know about when He saved me in the first place! I even shudder to think of being so suggestive. Now on top of that even to suggest such a condition could happen, but it can’t, it would bar me from ever being saved a second time due to the following. The following (Amplified Translation) is used here because it spells it out the way is should be translated in common everyday English. Hebrews 6:1-6 (AMP) (Emphases added) 1 THEREFORE LET us go on and get past the elementary stage in the teachings and doctrine of Christ (the Messiah), advancing steadily toward the completeness and perfection that belong to spiritual maturity. Let us not again be laying the foundation of repentance and abandonment of dead works (dead formalism) and of the faith [by which you turned] to God, 2 With teachings about purifying, the laying on of hands, the resurrection from the dead, and eternal judgment and punishment. [These are all matters of which you should have been fully aware long, long ago.] 3 If indeed God permits, we will [now] proceed [to advanced teaching]. 4 For it is impossible---------------[to restore and bring again to repentance] those who have been once for all enlightened, who have consciously tasted the heavenly gift and have become sharers of the Holy Spirit, 5 And have felt how good the Word of God is and the mighty powers of the age and world to come, 6 If they then deviate from the faith and turn away from their allegiance—-----[it is impossible]----- to bring them back to repentance, for (because, while, as long as) they nail upon the cross the Son of God afresh [as far as they are concerned] and are holding [Him] up to contempt and shame and public disgrace. Those that don’t have this assurance of ETERNAL SALVATION fixed in their souls are confined to a stage of what the Koine Greek calls “NEPOS” pronounced “nay-pee-os” or babes in Christ. 1st Cor. 3:1-3 God doesn’t need to do things twice because He might have forgotten something that we might do in the future, He does it right the first time! Now have a great day in the Lord and relax in what He has done for you, CDBJ |

Your question: (Is the rest really just a back seat and not worry too much about this?) For starters the NASB is about as close as one can get to the original language of the Koine Greek. Now doing what you suggest is like letting a baby fend for its self after it is born! We are commanded to study God's Word on a daily basis. 2 Timothy 2:15 (NASB) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. It’s impossible to know the will of God apart from the Word of God. CDBJ |

Greetings and welcome to the forum. Since Jesus Christ, as the appointed lamb of God, has paid the total price demanded for the penalty of sin, man if free to be escorted into the very presence of God. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 (NKJV) 6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. In the Koine Greek of the New Testament it is (PROS in the accusative case which informs us that God actually causes us to be face to face with the Lord) Here is a promise you can take to the bank. John 3:18 (NKJV) 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. I hope you find the forum useful an a blessing, CDBJ |

15 | In what year did Jesus die? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 236527
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The exact day that Christ died has been kicked around for years. I can tell you this much; where people really get mixed up and confused is due to the fact that the Jewish day starts in the evening 6:00pm. Now where the religious factions gets it all balled up is due to the mentioning of the next day being the Sabbath, which when it happened, the day after the 14th of Nissan on the Jewish calendar, they all assume that to be Saturday but the fact is the day after the 14th of Nissan isn’t a regular Sabbath or Saturday but a High Sabbath due to the feast of unleavened bread which that year fell on a Friday and not a Saturday. This being the case, and without having to perform all of the mental gymnastics, it makes it easy for Jesus to have been in the grave three full days and three full nights. You can have the internet figure it out for you using these parameters to determine the exact year that Christ paid our penalty, as a substation for our sin. Have you totally trusted in and relied on what Jesus did for you that day when He personally died on the cross for you? When you do God will place the Son in you as a gift from the Father and you in Christ causing you to become a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 1 John 5:10-13 (KJV) 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. I hope you have a beneficial Easter, CDBJ |

16 | what does the bible have sorragate paren | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 236523
Hello and welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy it. There is no specific biblical information in the Bible regarding these exact terms but I can tell you that the old sin nature has been passed down to all of us through the male of the species having originated through dear old Adam. 1 Corinthians 15:22 (NASB) 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. Jesus Christ is the only one that has ever been born without an old sin nature because His mother was Marry and His Father was God Himself therefore no old sin nature. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NASB) 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Now there is a deal that one doesn’t want to pass up! Have you come to the place yet in your spiritual experience where you can say that you’ve acquired the righteousness of God? Matthew 5:20 (NASB) 20 "For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Have a great day, CDBJ |

17 | salvation | Romans | CDBJ | 236500
Greetings and welcome to the forum. In answering your question I think it would be safe to say that the Apostle Paul would be a good example. Romans 10:1-4 (NASB) Speaking of Israel 1 Brethren, my heart's desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. 2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. 3 For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. 18 | what does the name jesus mean | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 236467
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The name Jesus was first used, though in a different form, back in the Old Testament. The one who delivered the people of God from their wonderings in the desert into the promise land, Joshua. The proper Hebrew spelling is yehoshua, pronounced, yeh-ho-shoo-ah. The meaning is the same in Hebrew and Greek, “God is salvation”. When looking at the word in the Koine Greek of the New Testament it is Iesous and pronounced, ee-ay-sooce, which when used in the English we pronounce it Jesus. Notice what it says in the following: Isaiah 7:14 (ASV) 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. This not a so much a name as it is a title. In proper English format it would be, “with us is God.” Luke 2:11 (ASV) 11 for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. This verse is telling us the same thing that is said in Isaiah 7:14, i.e. the one born to the human race this day is none other then the very Lord God Himself. This was determined from the divine decree from eternity past, when it was decided by the God Head that the second person of the trinity would voluntarily become a human being. As God He can’t die because God is eternal life but as a man could die. By doing this the Second person of the Trinity would be the anointed and appointed one, for the payment of the penalty for man’s sin. This isn't imputed to anyone until they have total undivided faith in the work trhat Jesus accomplished on the cross. From the time He became Jesus the Christ, at that point in time He became the most unique individual in existence. He is different then God the Father and God the Holy Spirit in that He is a man. He is different then any man in that He is God; He is the God Man. He is 100 percent God and at the same time He is 100 percent man; He is the God Man. Hebrews 1:6-8 (KJV) 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
