1 | Looking for honest preachers | Rom 5:5 | wwv | 50483
I have seen a rececnt post comparing T.V. evangelism to false prophesy. Should we throw all of them into one big pot? Or are there some better than others? Can any of them be trusted? It seems some, at least (John Hagee for instance), have a lot to offer in the teaching of the word. I do not, however, personally like it when they say " YOU MUST listen to MY tapes and TODAY for the special deal of ONLY so much money". you get the idea. And it seems a great deal of them always manage to incorporate sermons on tything ( many times making you feel 'guilty' and not 'inspired' to give the ministry money). Does that seem like the Christian spirit? William |

3 | Satan and Jesus, brothers? | Matt 7:22 | wwv | 49700
Dear EdB, Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t the Jehovah Witnesses believe in something similar to Jesus and Satan having been brothers? Is there anything to that? Do they believe that because they were both before creation? Or what? I’ve heard of this before and I’d be interested in knowing more. From anyone From the heart, William |

4 | Healing powers of the false prophets? | Matt 7:22 | wwv | 49605
These people are denied entry to kingdom of God because they never really knew the Lord. Were they ones who were deceived? Were did they get their power to cast out demons from? Does Satin or the Antichrist have power to use the lords’ name to perform miracles? I noticed some good comments on the 1/2/02 posts. One offered the idea that they were actually trying to lie on that Day of Judgment. Another more scary idea, yet as feasible, was that they believed in a 'false Jesus' using his name only but not his reality (maybe having the form of Godliness but denying the power thereof?). When I say Scary, I worry about many preachers, men of God, faith healers, etc. who have really come to believe they are anointed by the Lord and in fact may not be. That's a kind of fear that any Christian should be afraid. Any comments. |

5 | Where was God when Jesus was here? | John 3:16 | wwv | 49599
Dear Justme, What a wonderful response to my question. That explains a lot to me. Especialy the Colossians 1:15-23 referance,Thank you. You've just helped me to get closer to the truth. Could you give me more insight on His human form. When Jesus was a little boy(say 2 or 3), did He know he was God, Or did he realize it when he was baptized by John? And when he was walking the earth was he also(simultaneously)in the heavens? |

6 | What does the term 'Son' mean? | John 3:16 | wwv | 49591
In John 3:16 what exactly is the meaning of His 'only' begotten (unique) Son? Is Jesus Christ a spirit or a special angel of God that could not be duplicated, or was Jesus the ONLY person that has and will ever be given the full authority of GOD to do His purpose to redeem His creation? And as far as the 'only' part, If the Lord created more "Sons' " would that defeat the sovereignty of His redemption plans? Could someone give me an insight to this delema? What does 'Son' really mean?
7 | questioning the truth | Rom 8:28 | wwv | 49561
I know it is a command to test the spirits and to watch out for false prophets, but is there any danger in qustioning what God is doing,or why he does what he does?
8 | thought on cor 7:12 and 7:15 | 1 Cor 7:39 | wwv | 48658
I was just wondering about Cor 7:15.When it mentions the term "departs" does that mean spiritually or physically(or both!). If we give ourselves to the Lord in full and its more than our spouses are willing to give themselves, is that considered one 'departing' from the other.I mean if we are married to an unbeliever and if we have to compromise our faith are we not in sin.Is it a question of whats more important, following the Lord or compromising to keep a marriage in peace? Or is it more important to follow the Lord whole heartedly (whatever the cost may be), and then if he or she is still willing to live with the believer 'Cor 7:12-13' maybe they do have a deep need for the Lord after all. Or maybe they won't. 'cor 7:16'. The Lord knows. P.S. May God bless all marriages. They are the root of any strong nation. |
