1 | Was the Bible written by astrologers? | Rom 1:19 | tonyp | 196234
Hi, This is to add to my previous question "Was the Bible written by fortune tellers" I thank everyone that contributed to the answer. :) Please read that question before reading this one. This person I have mentioned is my father, and it is very important to me to share the good news about Jesus with him in a way that makes sense to him. I shifted the burden of proof on him, and he showed me an Astrology transcript that in his opinion matches the accuracy of the Bible. This transcript was about me, and it describes a few specific details about me that are quite accurate. For example, 1) That I will study in a foreign country apart from my own. (True, and unimaginable at the time it was told) 2) That I will be held in high esteem in my school for my intelligence. (True, and unimaginable at the time it was told) 3) That I will marry someone that truly takes care of me . (Ture, although I agree this is vague) 4) That I will be leaving my country between two specific dates. (True) etc... Now what he is saying is that the prophets of the Bible did not speak to God at all, and that they knew advanced astrology and used it to write the prophecies in the Bible. Furthermore, he says this is the reason why the Bible prohibits people from practicing the same things so other people will not be able to do the same. He says there is no God, but the future can be told and the Hebrews have produced the Bible for political agenda. This response has disturbed be a lot, I would seriously appreciate your prayers and also some answers please. Please try to digest what he REALLY saying. I have already explained to him about demons and satan. His primary argument is the fact that if the Bible says ONLY God can tell the future, how can satan and demons do it? |

2 | Was the Bible written by fortune tellers | Luke 24:1 | tonyp | 196179
As I was teaching someone about the bible, I demonstrated a few of the significant prophecies that have come true. The person then asked me, "How do you know the people who wrote the Bible did not use astrology or fortune telling techniques to do it?" He mentioned that there are so many people who can tell the future. He gave me a few examples from his own experiences in visiting a fortune teller and how well his future was told. He also mentioned Nostradamus, and how he has predicted so many things. If I can give him an answer to this question, he will believe the Bible is the only place to find God. What should I tell him? |
