1 | What possibly could be added? | Bible general Archive 2 | shalor | 102693
(Jude 1:5 NASB) Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe. (Luke 1:1-4 NASB) Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile an account of the things accomplished among us, 2 just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word have handed them down to us, it seemed fitting for me as well, having investigated everything carefully from the beginning, to write it out for you in consecutive order, most excellent Theophilus; 4 so that you might know the exact truth about the things you have been taught. (John 20:31 NASB) but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. Jude said we know all things once and for all. Luke said he compiled an account so we woul know the exact truth. John said what was written is so you may believe that Jesus is the Christ. What else could we possibly add and how would we validate that? |

6 | What Sin? | John | shalor | 102341
“What sin causes a person to lose his salvation?” Sin, any sin falls short of the perfect holiness of God. Every person, regardless of his maturity or relationship with the Lord, is far from perfect by God’s standard. We all have something in our lives which falls short of God’s glory, i.e., some sin though it may be unknown. 1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. Where, then, do we draw the line? Those who believe we can lose our salvation categorize sin as though God overlooks some sins while He judges others. It becomes a matter of degrees and the question arises, how bad must we become before we lose our salvation? Which sin does us in? People often categorize sin into various levels, but their categories are usually out of touch with God’s perspective. Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things which the LORD hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, 19 A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers. |

Sola Scriptura ? If Sola Scriptura is not valid, then the logical conclusion would be there must be some other valid source. Scriptura Plus? Just Plus without Scripture? If Church authority is not valid then whose teachings are valid? What about Nestorism, Sunni, Shiite, Sufism, Bahai, Mormonism, Etc. Shalor |
