1 | memories and forgiveness | 2 Samuel | rmhall | 37460 | ||
I understand forgiveness in two senses --one of judicial forgiveness whereby my sins are forgiven once and for all through the blood of Jesus on the cross and my salvation is assured. The other as parental forgiveness whereby I can continually receive forgiveness by coming to the Lord in repetance. Matt6:14-15 tells us we are to forgive or we won't be forgiven. My question is in forgiveness it seems the memory of our sins does not alway go away, does that mean we haven't been truly repentive or forgive? Or is it a reminder like Paul's thorn in the flesh so that we won't be apt to do the same sin again or to be reminded that God's grace is sufficent? |
