2 | Are the Ten Commandments a Covenant | Matt 22:34 | rferg | 71471
Are you saying then commandments the bible is reffering to is the Ten Commandments? The first 4 teach us to love God and the last 6 teac us to love our neighbor. All the law would hang on these two commandments? Wasn't the Ten Commandments a Covenant? Many covenants from the OT are still in effect, such as the Rainbow. Could this covenant still be in effect?
3 | How many Pastor's are preaching to he lo | NT general Archive 1 | rferg | 71470
My question is out of the 28 full time pastors how many are amongst the lost preaching the gospel. Jesus, the apostles and the discipes all witnessed to the lost that's why they were saved. Mos people on Sunday mornings are saved (a few with exception.) The lost are not in the church. When are Pastor's going to start fulfilling their jobs? This church can obviously afford a 7 mil dollar building project with no problem so I am sure it can afford to support very widow in a hunred mile radious, not to mention 70,000 per month on food for the poor and needy at the church first, right. |

4 | what is the purpose of the resurrection? | NT general Archive 1 | rferg | 71465
Where in any of these scriptures does it specifically state the spirit remains alive after the physical death? For what purpose would it stay alive? If we were delivered to eternal life or punishment at the time of death why would there be a need for Christ to return or the reserrection? 1Thes. 4:13- But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethern, about those ho are asleep(died) that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope.14 For if we beieve that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep (died) in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, and remain until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede (go before) those who have fallen asleep (died).16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangle, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Chist shall rise first. 17 Then we that are alive and remain shall be causght up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus shall always be with the Lord. 18 Comfort one another with these words. |

5 | Which commandments are we to keep? | Matt 22:34 | rferg | 71466
In the book of Revelation 3 different times it discribes the church Jesus is returning for. Rev. 12:17,14:12,22:14 they keep the commadments and the testimony of Jesus Christ. In 1 John 2:3 And by this we know that we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4The one who says I know Him, and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. The rich young ruler in Mark 10:17 ask Jesus what he must do to enter the Kingdom of God and Jesus quoted the last six of the Ten Commandments which teach us to love our neighbor as our self. Which commandments is the bible referring to in the NT is my qustion? |

6 | Which commandments are written on our he | Exodus | rferg | 71146
Since we are no longer under the "Law" in the OT we are not under the Law of the Ten Commandments. When the bible tells us in the NT "if we love God we will keep his commandments, the rich young ruler ask Jesus how to enter eternal life and he says to obey the commandments and then quotes the last 6 of the Ten Commandments written in Law of the Old Covenant. In the book of Rev. it tells us three times that Christ will return for a church who keeps the commandments and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Under the new covenant the bible tells us that God would write His commandments on our heart. My qestion is what commandments are they? |

7 | Simple example that we shoud keep sabbat | Ps 111:7 | rferg | 57993
Is this passage in Hebrews not a simple and clear picture that the seventh day sabbath of rest is still binding today? This passage is in the NT. Jesus is our example! Read the entire chapter of Ex. 16 they refused to obey God. Hebrew 4 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unt them; but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said. As I have swarn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest; althought the words were finished from the foundation of the world (creation I presume)4For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the sevent day from all his works. 5 And in this place again, if they shall enter into my rest. 6. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief;7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, Today after so long a time; as it is said today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour there to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. |
