3 | fate of Barabbas | NT general | nightman | 200899
Addressing the erroneous assumptions. Let's start with another set of them. 1. Let's assume Jesus didn't watch Barabbas "walk" away. But he knew Barabbas would be in the vicinity of his disciples. They certainly did follow the crowd and witnessed what was happening to our Lord. Peter came eye to eye with Jesus didn't he? 2. Surely if one of them made an attempt to witness to him they would have recorded it. 3.4 I don't think it's off base to assume someone that experienced what Barabbas did. Would consider it providence whatever name he would give "it" and be open to true change. 5.Allah, God, Jehovah, Yahweh, which ever one it was. He certainly intervened in Barabbas's life! I tried to write a short story on this subject but as I tried to find facts to use I couldn't. So I started with what some of the things that Barabbas would have heard about Jesus as he was eating in a restaurant Why do people insist on hating this man because Jesus traded places with him? It was preordained that it would happen. To this man it was a miracle! To the disciples it was injustice. Either way I don't believe he made it to paradise with the thief that died with Christ!! 4 | Is it not our duty to witness to people? | NT general | nightman | 200891
Do you think Jesus was disappointed with his Disciples? As he watched Barabbas walk free. And not even one of the men Jesus spent his last three years with teaching them to love and forgive. Walk over and ask Barabbas. Don't you even want to know about the man who traded places with you? Surely, Barabbas was aware of the fact that "Allah" had just intervened in his life. A golden opportunity for witnessing isn't it? LATER, MEL |
