1 | Is "Lifting His name" Biblical? | John 12:32 | khuck | 104259
Is "Lifting His name" Biblical? Obviously none of these responses have anything to do with my name, since the question was in regards to lifting Jesus' Name. Therefore I hope with the blessing of the forum participants no one will mind if I change this back to it's original query topic line, and I humbly ask if we choose to post to the topic it will start again from this point. Yes, it is just my personal preference, but seeing my name over and over again under so many different circumstances, is beginning to seem derisive. I am sorry please forgive me if this sounds self-serving. Your sister in Christ, -Kathy |

3 | Can you define Charismatic | Eph 4:14 | khuck | 104000
Radioman; I have been told that I am a Charismatic Christian, of that I am not sure. I just know that I am a believer. What is the charismatic, really? I have heard it described in so many ways. I do speak in tongues and therefore a member of my Mom's church said that is what I am. I have heard that the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of His gifts warrants the title charismatic. Please explain the term to me if you can. Your in Him, -Kathy |

4 | Slain or knocked down | Eph 4:14 | khuck | 103983
I was invited to visit the church of a family member, and accepted the invite. While I was there the Pastor prayed for me as I was standing before him. He had his hand on my forehead and he was pushing me. Of Course I (wearing 2 inch heels) was pushing back against his hand, not wanting to fall. Finally he gave me a thrust knocking me to the floor, and causing much discomfort on my toosh. People gathered around me as if it was a miraculous thing. Why do they do this? What does it mean? Why is it called being slain? I have seen it done before, I have no understanding of it. -khuck |

5 | Do you recall the day of your Salvation | John 12:32 | khuck | 103826
Dearest Brothers and Sister in Christ; Before I leave for worship this morning, I desire to pose another query on the forum, but this time I will answer it before I ask, so that I cause no one to feel offended or hurt and to assure you that there is no malicious intent. I think there is so much power to draw people to Christ when we lift Him up by our testimony. I have been in some church all of my life. My grandmother who was a founding member and very active member of our family church when I was born; made sure that my first outing as a newborn was to the church to be dedicated. I have been going ever since. But I made a conscience decision to call upon the name of Jesus to be saved almost 31 years ago. I met this young Lady named Ann. As our friendship grew she had me over for lunch. She began to tell me things that I already knew, as to how the Lord died for my sins. But as she spoke the words that I had heard over and over throughout the years, I began to take those words very personally for the first time. I remember bawling as I recalled all of the sinful things that I had done in my life, and I could vividly see Jesus suffering on that cross and dying because of "MY" flagrant sins and disobedience. It was just Him and me. I was a guilty wretched sinner and He was my Loving Lord paying the price of all that I had done and that price was death. To think that He would love me that much all of this time and I had never once considered it thoughtfully. (AND REMEMBER I WAS IN CHURCH) At that point it was no longer my Christian religion it became my Christ relationship. I knew that I could in no way deserve such a gift, but I accepted so great a salvation, and vowed to let Him be the Lord of my life. The words of that song, "He looked beyond my faults and saw my needs" began to mean something to me on that day. I have been in Him since that day. Sometimes up, and sometimes down, but I promise you NEVER OUT! My question: Do you remember the day that He saved you and what is your testimony of that day? For God so Love the world, He gave His ONLY begotten Son that we may live! -Kathy |

6 | Do you seek God, for Guidance | Prov 3:6 | khuck | 103682
REPOST I asked recently a question that was not meant to be taken as an accusation nor was it facetious, it was meant in all seriousness and to be thought provoking. I actually sought an answer. 1. This post is biblically based and whenever possible, I have included Bible references to support it. 2. This post is not intended as a personal attack on the authority of the Bible or on other users of this forum. 3. This post is not submitted as an effort to foster divisiveness, ill-will, dissension or other disruptions to this forum. 4. I have carefully proofread my post and believe it represents my best efforts. (I include the above forum rules to refute any suspicion that this is a question outside of the guidlelines) Therefore let me rephrase and ask again? Q. Are there any posters who are answering questions on this forum that acknowledge God (not just the resources that we all research) But actually go to Him to seek His wisdom and guidance in the content that you post when giving answers? I really want to know, -khuck |
