1 | Does God hear me when I pray? | Eph 1:6 | jalanlambert | 177839
This past Wed. our preacher said that if we don't ask for forgiveness from our sins, God will not hear our prayers even if we have been saved for years. I had always thought that once we get saved God remembers our sins no more. That they are as far as the East is from the West. Does God hear a Christians prayers even though they might have sin in their live?

4 | Were there 2 or 4 men hung on the cross | Matt 27:38 | jalanlambert | 165340
The 4 Gospels talk about the 2 thieves being hung on the cross with Jesus, and 2 malefactors being hung as well. I always looked at them as the same. I had someone tell me that there were really 4 people hung besides Jesus, 2 thieves and 2 malefactors. Matt. 27:44 says that both thieves mocked Jesus along with the (V41) chief priests, scribes and elders. Also Mark 15:32 says that those who were crucified with him reviled him. Luke 23:39 says that one of the malefactors who were hnged railed at him. (V40) says that the other rebuked the one that reviled Jesus. My Question is were there 2 or 4 men on the cross with Jesus, and why do some accounts of the event say they both reviled Jesus while other accounts say that only one did. Some accounts say thieves and other Gospel accounts say malefactors. Are they one and the same.? Thanks ahead of time for any light you can shed on this subject. JAL |

6 | Salvation is a gift to be accepted | Luke 6:46 | jalanlambert | 141082
Angel, How many times have you been saved today? For we know from scripture that God can't look upon sin. And I believe you will agree with me that we all sin each day, either by committing sin or omitting to do what God lays on our hearts. I believe that salvation is a gift from God to be accepted. Scripture says that God chastens His children. If we lose our salvation when we sin, then who is it that God chastens? One single sin separates us from God. Why do people not tell All, that will hear, that they have been born again everytime they get saved again, and again? Isn't salvation the second or third time just as important as the first? So I ask you again, how many times in your christian walk have you been saved? In Love, JAL |

10 | Santa Clause or Jesus Christ? or both? | Deut 5:6 | jalanlambert | 128375
In a Bible discussion last night, a lady at our church said she didn't see anything wrong with teaching children to believe in Santa Clause. She thinks that it is harmless fun. I know this isn't the Christmas season, but I am interested to know how members of the forum would address this practice of including Santa Clause in the teaching of the birth of Christ during the Christmas season. What do you tell your children when asked about Santa Clause? I look foward to your response? Thank you for your time. JAL
11 | Ordained of God or Man? | Bible general Archive 2 | jalanlambert | 118155
Hi! I would like to know what the scriptures say about someone being ordained to preach the gospel? A gentleman in our church believes that anyone speaking at our church need be ordained by some governing body in order to qualify to speak. I recently started attending a Missionary Baptist church and this practice is new to me. I thought men are ordained of God to preach the gospel. Any verses or views on this subject would be appreciated. I will be off line after 4:00 p.m. EST. but will look foward to your reply. Thank you for your time. JAL
