1 | Are unbelievers in any way "saved"? | Heb 11:1 | gbea | 118406
Hi. Paul exhorts Timothy to godliness in I Tim 4. At the end of verse 10, he gives a description of part of God's character saying that He "is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe." What does he mean, that those who don't believe in Jesus are still saved from something? I have some small ideas, but I really don't understand here. Let me know if the LORD's given you any insight to share. Thanks and blessings in Yeshua/Jesus, our Savior and King!!! GB |

2 | Discerning bad fruit and apostasy | Bible general Archive 2 | gbea | 117448
Hi, I've been blessed to watch the dialogue of this forum. I, too, have confusion about the issue of Benny Hinn and false teaching. I am a supporter of the 700 Club and have been blessed of God through them. It baffles me that they had Benny Hinn on, if he’s a false prophet. I read the list of proofs that he's false the this website: www.deceptioninthechurch.com/bhinn.html, and they seemed to be very convincing (I was directed there from a comment here). I try to be very, very cautious about calling good evil, and evil good, as the Scriptures warn ("Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness..." Isaiah 5:20). If his works are good, I don’t want to call them evil. If they’re evil, I don’t want to call them good. It's like I feel like I need to not say anything because I don't know. However, I know this issue will not go away... I need to understand and walk in discernment. While reading the Scriptures last night, the issue of false prophets came up again… it won’t go away, so I need to deal with it. The Scriptures constantly warn us, and, as I understand, we are entering into days of greater apostasy and perversion against God’s Word and Truth. The Scriptures exhort us to test the spirits, so we should test the spirit(s) in him. ("Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1). How do we do that?? Jesus said you'll know them by their fruits. ("Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them." -Matt 7:15-20). It appears that people are saved and healed in some instances... but in others, there's evidence that people are not healed. So is his fruit good or bad? I am just not interested in speaking against what God is doing. Could it be that he's just off a little bit and we need to pray for him?? Really, which of us is not off a little bit? No one has full revelation, etc. Of course Satan will want to discredit everything God does... causing divisions and bringing accusation as the accuser of the brethren. Also, with the same measure we judge, we will be judged. Sorry for continuing to bring this topic up, as I have read through most of the archives on it at this Forum and spent several hours reading the info on the internet. It keeps coming up, and I just don’t know what to do. I don’t want to join Satan in accusing. I know really precious children of God who have gotten in this spiral of accusing all of these people and talking about them but forget to talk about the Goodness of our King and to have praises on their tongue, like it’s stolen their joy. They get on an agenda to expose deception but forget to talk about the Lord God and walk in love and humility. However, I don’t want to be deluded and deceived either. As you all, I just want to see the Lord Jesus magnified, to see His Kingdom established on this earth… to prepare the way for His coming and purify myself… to see His Church purified. He alone is worthy of all honor and praise. Any counsel for me? Thanks. Many blessings, Glory Bea. |
