1 | what kind of Bible reading qualifies? | Proverbs | chesshores | 205225
Jam 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts. the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, First Printed or Internet (blueletterbible.org) Edition was compiled in the belief that Bible verses from elsewhere within the Protestant canon best explain and illustrate more obscure verses i began my teenage Christian exploration of life with the Revised and Expanded Second Edition of the TSK, which is an improvement by a later author who taught many Bible classes, is respected by both evangelical-Protestant and charismatic-Pentecostal(such as Jack Hayford) pastors from his accolades. Jam 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts. kjv this verse was used by TSK First Edition to illustrate Luke 16:11 there are many possible contexts, but TSK1Ed and the other Bible translations except one translation and blueletterbible seems to suggest either negligence, sloppiness or deliberate cheating the odd one out translates scattering this is my enhanced understanding after consultation of blb.org how accurate am i in trying to comply with your code of conduct, terms etc remember i am from a foreign Asian culture |

2 | the q of Scrptrl interpretation, again | Proverbs | chesshores | 205220
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? kjv i take it you read this kjv verse as saying, the fact that the junior manager was entrusted with the Masters wealth in the first place shows that he was at one point in time in the past faithful and deserved his stewardship? i however see it as surprisingly symbolic of many Financial Managers today, like central bank governors. i come from the world of finance. i have been given tasks to estimate values which are subjective. but other peers of mine take short cuts and undeservedly impress the bosses more. this explains market shocks and crashes. jesus in my pondering this passage was sounding a warning, the fact you have reached a high position in this worldly life does not merit you the garments and passport to Paradise clarify if you wish to |

3 | Jesus symbolism in parable, how else | Proverbs | chesshores | 205216
Luke 16:2-14 2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward. 3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. 4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. 5 So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord? 6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty. 7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore. 8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. 9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. 10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. 11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? 13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. (KJV) i think you have a very different reading of all this, please reply, i am making this a question the key thing here i believe is Master. God is Master or Lord. Money is an answer, though it need not be THE answer for everything (see NKJV Ecc) i have not heard any sermon on this passage. From the way i see it, the dishonest manager was careless b4 accounting to his Master. Now though he cannot remember the details, his generosity in representation and compensation for his Master wins back, redeems favour from the debtors it has spiritual meaning if taken symbolically. how would you interpret this literalistically, as you say, adhering to the terms of this forum? i have made effort to ensure what i answer here is pure |

well i dont belong to a cult i belong to the Anglican Diocese of Singapore Currently the Archbishop of the Province of Southeast Asia, also Bishop of the Diocese has not clearly stated if he is Charismatic/pro-Charismatic/neutral he rose to become Reverend Canon and Bishop-Elect as a Mandarin Congregation Minister. the Mandarin Congregations of the Diocese are anti-Charismatic but over the years the dust has somewhat settled and we dont pick fights readily now i was taught to compare Scripture with Scripture. Even doing so eg NASB//theMessage Parallel Bible by Zondervan or Amplified//KJV Parallel Bible also by Zondervan may be very logically edifying and bring forth strong beliefs but not everyone even within my own local Charismatic Church can agree easily with me if things progress the way they are doing now at least partly by your initiation, you should be aware that you are shutting out a lot of interpretation of the NASB(literalist translation) and the AB(dynamic equivalence translation) see Ecc.12.v11 NKJV i think (i have lost my NKJVs search it on the internet i think it says scholars instead of masters of assemblies) is NKJV literalist in translation, like NASB surely you cannot be perfect in rendering to call it soundly literal throughout without any symbolism whatsoever; best wishes |

sorry for expecting so much Both Old and New Ts seem from my standpoint to say that 1. nature sings Jesus' glory, Hosanna or the Rocks will cry my glory on the first Palm Sunday when Jesus rode on a donkey b4 the crowds also meditate more of the Psalms 2. the spirit of Prophecy, the Testimony of Jesus, a key Spiritual Bible verse ----- see my other answer to the other party--- often missed by preachers and writers of short Christian books says, in my reading and experience as a Christian, that Jesus the High Priest and Saviour-King, Bridegroom-King "calls" pre-Christians b4 one introduces Christ to them? 3. how proverbs comes in Wisdom shouts in the streets, at the top of the busiest places and forks and intersections eg city squares, says the Bible's Proverbs Wisdom Personified or Lady Wisdom as Petersons the Message paraphrases Proverbs, is Jesus Christ the preincarnate Word (John1, Gen.1), preexistent b4 all time |

Prov 1:20-2:16 20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: 21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, 22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? 23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. 24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: 29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: 30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. 31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. 32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. 33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. CHAPTER 2 1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. 10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; 13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; 14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; 15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: 16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; (KJV) q: can we assume from this passage that the "spirit/essence of Prophecy, the Testimony of Jesus" (New Testament) is poured out by our Active Living Jehovah since the invisible things are clearly discerned (apostolic epistle) to every unbeliever through the glory of creation, the tell-it-all? thanks for your grace |

hi, im new here, but am using a phone line once used by two former users whose accounts were terminated but whose postings are largely kept archived here. a few of their postings, according to them, were removed for largely undisclosed reasons i am a neighbour of the same age as the two former users. i am using a different computer though the same phone line and ISP(Internet Service Provider) they used having read carefully your Terms and made out what they require, i am to understand that i may post entries as questions, answers, notes etc on advice from them but largely on my own initiative? is it wrong to post answers far lengthier than your own questions? i am a more mature Christian than them, with much more knowledge of the Charismatic, Reformed, Evangelical, Episcopal, Protestant, Pentecostal and Renewal church movements than they one of them answered that he and the questioner was "Charismatic" (from the NT Greek word: charisma) this was by no means pushing a denominational bias as all kinds of churches and movements build on the charismatic movements' beginnings. they felt however they were unfairly disallowed from continued participation in this forum despite wholehearted endeavouring to follow Christ's Golden Rule: Do ye unto others etc. i learnt from them yesterday that at the time of their participation, the maximum word length for answers was 5000 words. to this end they spent much effort and time reducing the length of and improving clarity of their answers. nonetheless they appreciate your continuing support of their answers which need not be removed Grace, Peace and Love in Christ our Guide, Advocate, High Priest and God Christ Jesus our Lord and God |
