1 | Why does the Bible say days and nights? | Mark 8:31 | Signmanbob | 122950 | ||
Justme, I appreciate you trying to bring some light to this for me but I still have a little problem because the Bible says that Jesus will be dead for three days and three nights. If any part of the day is regarded as the whole day then why does God's word make it a point to specify days and nights. Friday and Friday night-Saturday and Saturday night-Sunday and Sunday night seems to have Him resurrecting on Monday morning! Mat 12:40 for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. You will have to forgive me because I know that I am ignorant on ancient Jewish culture but obviously many Biblical scholars (including Dr. James D. Crumpton and Ronald L. Dart) are having a problem with this issue also so that makes me feel a little better. At least I'm not the Lone Ranger. I thank God that He sent His beloved Son to die for our sins whether it was on Wednesday or Friday! God bless you, SignmanBob |
