1 | Who is the Bride of the Lamb? | Rev 19:9 | Searcher56 | 239245
I have heard that the bride of the Lamb is the church citing Ephesians 5:22-33. However, I read about the headship (Christ/church : husband/wife (vs 23)), being subject (church-Christ : wife-husband (v 24)) love (husband-wife : Christ-church (vv25ff)). Even if the church is His wife, the verb tenses are not future, as we read here in Revelation (19:9, 21:2, 21:9, 22:17). Until the wedding, aka during the betrothal period, the woman was under the headship and roof of her father. In 21:2 it is clear that His future bride is New Jerusalem. Moreover, who are the invited (vs 9)? If the bride, or woman is the church, I read that the invited are OT saints (as well as the tribulation saints, if one is pre trib (or even mid trib). I have a hard time thinking that we are not all one body, no matter when we believe. If the bride is the church, what will happen to the invitees? |

3 | Is salvation from or to God? | Rev 7:10 | Searcher56 | 231443
I am doing a study in Revelation, in preparation teach it. Revelation 7:10 says "Salvation to our God" (NASB). I'd think it should be "from" not "to". I know the Amplified says "[Our] salvation is due to our God". The Greek says "soteria (salvation) to (to the) theo (God) hemon (of us)" Other translations are mixed on if salvation is to or from Him. Is Revelation 19:10 related? Searcher |

4 | When did Jerusalem become holy? | Neh 11:1 | Searcher56 | 229770
When did Jerusalem become holy? Cite Scripture ... for I don't see Jerusalem called holy before Nehemiah 11:1, unless I miss something. When is the "will be" of Isaiah 4:3? Does that mean it stopped? If so when? Searcher |

5 | Why Do We Stand Aloof ... or Not? | Obad 1:11 | Searcher56 | 229599
I am preparing for my Sunday School lesson. As I read Obadiah 1:11, I see Edom stood aloof when strangers carried off Judah wealth. I thought about the Good Samaritan (Luk 10:25-37), where a priest and then a Levite come by, but both avoided the man … but the Samaritan took action. Are there other Biblical examples where the unexpected happened either taking no action or taking action? Also, why don't we help our neighbor ... from saving thier life, even to our peril ... to giving directions to one who seems lost? Searcher |

6 | Was creation complete in six days? | Gen 2:2 | Searcher56 | 229563
This is a change in thought, that I am considering ... something in my study from yesterday. I believe God completed creating in six days (Gen 2:2; Exo 20:8-11, 31:17). Since there may be an issue with the first word in Genesis 2:2 ... "by" (e.g., NASB) or "and" (e.g., Amplified) ... I look at the whole verse in the later. It looks like He worked and rested on the same day. Based on the other verses (Exo 20:8-11, 31:17), He rested on day 7. Young's Literal Translation may shed some light on the "and" ... "and God completeth by the seventh day His work which He hath made, and ceaseth by the seventh day from all His work which He hath made." Also back in Genesis 1:31, we read, "God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day." To me it sounds like all the work was done ... previously we read "and God saw that it was good" (vv 10, 12, 18, 21, 25) ... also "Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made" (Gen 2:3) ... sounds like work was done before Day 7. Goind to the commands in Exodus (20:8-11, 31:17) ... one's work for the week is done in six days ... the seventh day is not part of work. Searcher |

7 | How much to give God? 1st Fruits | Neh 10:35 | Searcher56 | 225978
Does the principle of first fruits apply if there is a loss the previous week? A person makes 1000.00 a week. They give 100.00 in offering Take home pay is 854.00 ... 146.00 in taxes. There is 754.00 left over for expenses. They save 50.00 a week The person goes to the hosptial and works 3/10 of the time ... making 300 (they are an hourly employee with no benefits) Take home pay is 282.48 ... but the expenses are not reduced - they will go up with the copay. The Sunday before, they gave 100.00. What do they give the following Sunday ... they believe they will make their normal 1000.00? - Does first fruits mean 100.00 ... because it is given in faith believing the full harvest will come in? - Do they give 30.00 ... because of a poor harvest the previous time? - Do they stop giving and saving until the expenses are paid? |

8 | Should we dedicate older children to Him | 1 Sam 1:28 | Searcher56 | 216773
We may dedicate (or baptize) babies, and maybe even very young children. However, if the parent(s) become a Christian and their child, let's say school age child, has not ... does the church FAIL to dedicate (or baptize) to the Lord? For me it would be important, because both the parent(s) and the church make the covenant to teach the child about Him as well as other things. This is other question we need to ask our leadership, too. Searcher |

11 | What is the diff between pros and eis? | Eph 4:12 | Searcher56 | 212422
In Ephesians 4:12 we read ... for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; ... in the NJV, it is 3 fors ... in the Greek ... pros ton katartismon ton hagion eis ergon diakonias, eis oikodomen tou somatos tou Christou So my question is ... is YLT "in order fully to" for the first for pros better? I look at the Greek as I study. Searcher |

12 | Why is it knowledge of the "Son of God"? | Eph 4:13 | Searcher56 | 212000
Why is it knowledge of the Son of God ... fullness of Christ? Paul uses Son of God only three times (Rom 1:4; 2Co 1:19; Gal 2:20) and we are to know Eph 1:17 (Father), Col 1:9-10 (His will and God), Col 2:2 (Christ), 2Pe 1:2-3 (God and of Jesus our Lord), 2Pe 2:20 (Lord and Savior Jesus Christ), when Paul and Peter refer knowing (epignosis) someone. So why "Son of God" and not Christ? Searcher |
