1 | elaborate? | Bible general Archive 1 | PVSpud | 155889
I certainly agree. A trusting parent is not a submissive parent, and if indeed my home were without discipline, I should doubtless be the worse for it. They do not avoid the obvious in their parenting, nor show restraint in questioning suspicious behavior, as parents should, only they trust my actions without 'exasperating.' Very different, trust and permissive. And that goofy language can probably be attributed to Russian literature. Also, if you have the time, could you elaborate on your coment about modern dating, in relation to the Bible, the influence of culture, and the aim of dating? I would greatly appreciate it. |

2 | masturbation to get out from under sin | Bible general Archive 1 | PVSpud | 136376
I heartily respect your belief on this matter, and have the utmost respect for you as a christian. I do not masturbate, for I have been skeptical of it. I do, however, have a tendency to look at things as either positive in my relationship to God, or negative. If one were to see masturbation as "getting out from under" the temptation towards sin, rather than a manifestation of it, how would you respond? This should be taken in the context that I am young and it would be unwise in almost all respects for me to wed at this time. Thank you for keeping up this debate with all your patience, and not getting easily angered and shunning us who may not understand God to the level of you. |

3 | Masturbation used to expel sexual urge? | Bible general Archive 1 | PVSpud | 136368
I cannot claim to be as wise or knowledgeable about this as others on the forum. I only came upon this thread, and wondered about your answer. We clearly have freedom from the law, when we're under the law of the Spirit. And, we should do all that he blesses. However, following your answer, I wonder if expelling bodily fluids would be blessed by God? If masturbation, and I'm not saying this is the majority or ever the case, expels our sexual urge just as we expel that which we eat and drink, then can it not be just as beneficial? Please respond, I wait for your answer. May God walk with you, in all that you do. |

4 | Has God already chosen who he would save | Eph 1:4 | PVSpud | 125161
if the "us" refers only to the saved, than isn't that saying that God already chose those he would save, and thus, what's the point in trying to convert those he hasn't chosen? Or is the "us" everyone on earth... but are they holy and blameless, set apart for Him?
