1 | Friday crucifixion | John 19:31 | Mdsimmons | 181133 | ||
Recently,I have encountered discussions about weather it was a Wednesday or Friday crucifixion.I cannot see it happening before Friday,the edvidance doesn't seem to support it(in my veiw).I feel it is an important because Jesus was fulfilling prophecies concerning Himself.He said #1 He would be betrayed,#2 handed over to the chief priests and sentenced to death,#3 given over to the gentiles,#4 be killed, and 'on the third day',He would rise. In Acts 10:3,9,23,24,30 the story of Cornelius is a literal 72hr. time frame,which lines up perfectly to the same hour that Jesus gave up the Ghost on the cross(ninth hr. 3pm)and Cornelius calls it "four days ago".(in the story of Lazarus Martha said the body would stink after 'four days' in the grave). People who believe it was on Wednesday, say that Mary did not have time from Thursday eve.-Friday eve., to annoit Jesus' body(this would have been day five,according to Cornelius' count). The scriptures say that Nicodemus bought 100lbs of spices,and Joseph brought linen cloth and the both wrapped the body together(John 19:38-40).(Matt.27:61;Mark 15:47;Luke 23:55 say that Mary Magdarlene and another Mary,was watching them do this and was there when they rolled the stone in frount of the tomb. Matt.27:62-65 says,on the Sabbath/the next day,the chief priests and pharisees,asked Pilate to have the tomb gaurded until after 'the third day'.So Pilate ordered that a seal be placed over the tomb and gaurds to watch over it.But in Mark 16:3 while Mary Magdarlene and Jesus' mother were walking to the tomb,they were wondering who would roll away the stone as if they knew nothing of the seal or gaurds.. This was after the Sabbath ended Sat/eve and very early Sunday morning and they were expecting to annoit Jesus' body.Also,if you count backwards,the days leading up to the crucifixion,if it were Wed.,That would have Jesus riding/burdening a donkey on the previous Sabbath, instead of the first day of the week.If you believe Jesus rose on Sabbath,then He would not fulfill First Fruits/ Wave offering.There are many other problems with a Wed. crucifixion,but this is what I feel a 6th day crucfixion would reveil: 1:)1st Adam was created on the 6th day,Christ was in paridise/heart of the earth on the 6th day, preaching to the OT saints, Christ is called the 2nd Adam and the First Born of the dead.2:)Jesus is the Bread which came down from heaven (Manna),only,the 6th day manna would not stink or become wormy as long as it was gone before sun up the first day of the week.God said He would not suffer His Holy One to see corruption(Act 2:27,31;13:35-37)3:)The first born was to recieve a double portion,Jesus is the First Born of all creation, and the First Begotten of God,as I showed above, the only day a double portion was given, was on the 6th day. My question is,..above #1-#3 are things I feel the Lord has reveiled to me, has any one else heard these things preached or read the same things some where?? If so, where can I read them? Also, what are your thoughts about these things? |

Matthew 5:17,18 Searcher/or someone else I would like to know what do you do with the jots and tittles concerning animal sacrifices which are commandments in the Law. Can we remove half/part of the Law and what Law tells us we can? What did Jesus mean when He said "It is finished" on the cross?What does Hebrews 7:11,12,18,19; 8:6-13 mean?? |

In John 13:1,2 We know that Jesus ate passover with the disciples,Chapter 18 they are in the garden and Jesus gets arrested.18:28 It was early in the morning,Then they sent Him to Pilate,but they(the preist)didn't go in so they would not be defiled and could eat the (Passover?)
