1 | Is Ishmael the father of Islam? | Gen 21:21 | MWLaine | 229286
Gen 16:12 "He will be a wild donkey of a man, His hand will be against everyone, And everyone's hand will be against him; And he will live to the east of all his brothers." Examination of this prohecy concerning Ishmael would be coherent to what we are seeing concerning the Muslim/Islamic world which will not live peacefully with its internal or external neighbors. Infidels, Christians and Jews...Buddhists and Hindu, have the hand of Jihad against them. And it appears that the Qu'ran trumps up the relationship between Ishmael and Abraham, to be something greater than what I can find it to be other than animous, in order to lend credibility to Islam to be anything more than that of a plaintiff "Me Too" inclusionary cry from the elder son of Abraham. Therefore I take this to be a prophecy of Islam as we see it today with the head being in Mecca to the east. The Muslim Faithful all bow to the east in prayer towards Mecca to further solidify my thoughts on this verse. I can only conclude that Ishmael is the legitimate father of Islam because of the root sin in which Abraham did not wait on God to fulfill His promise. Can I be dissuaded? |

2 | Is Ishmael the father is Islam? | Gen 21:21 | MWLaine | 229219
In this a prophetic verse talking about Hagar's child Ishmael, I wonder if the angel talking to Hagar is prophesying the Muslim nation. The bloody borders of Islam are well known today and it is very well known that Ishmael figures in very prominently into the Hajj. Gen 16:12 "He will be a wild donkey of a man, His hand will be against everyone, And everyone's hand will be against him; And he will live to the east of all his brothers." Even though Arabs and Jews spring from the origin of Abraham they are brothers fighting and killing each other daily over Canaan. Such a sin as not waiting on God for a child has resulted in the catalyst for contention between brothers that has been easy picking from Satan himself who is the head of Islam. Ahmadinejad who is professing to destroy Israel when he has sufficient strength of nuclear power appears to be that "Wild Donkey". Any thoughts? |

3 | How to determine demonic posession? | Eph 6:13 | MWLaine | 221480
I wonder about demons or Satan himself possessing a man who posts at the Ray Comfort blog site? This man loves to screed in the form of hateful attacks on fellow Christian bloggers and extreme blashphemy against God. It makes me wonder...as he posts under the name Bullhorn Twotails. Does anyone know about how to determine demonic posession? |

4 | Is the culmination of days upon us? | Bible general Archive 4 | MWLaine | 210584
I want to ask a question of my fellow Christian brethren... If media or people in general started to refer to a political candidate as "The Messiah" and that political candidate professes to be a Christian don't most of you think that a saved Christian would find the suggestion extremely repugnant? And if people were refering to any one of you as "The Messiah" would you not set the record straight, immediately? How is it possible that Jeremiah Wright should be given a pass at the filth he spews from the pulpit? Should the 20-year association of a pastor to his congregant Obama be shrugged off and assumed to have no affect on the character of Obama, who aspires to the office of president? Shouldn't the community of Christians stand up and condemn Wright and his entire congregation including Obama? Is there anyone here on this site who has not been questioning what they are seeing in regards to one Barack Hussein Obama? I know I have...but regardless the outcome of tomorrows elections I pray that Gods plan unfolds and we who profess to love Jesus are able to play a part in what I consider evidence of the culmination of the game. I ask God to strengthen each and everyone of you who believe in Jesus and the pray that your mouth is opened freely to snatch as many as possible from the fate of eternal damnation. Amen. |

5 | I am edified, can I help you? | Prov 12:12 | MWLaine | 187561
GKidder, I have been seeing your inputs on this issue (as in the following)... "You need to look in the book of Genesis to see why would even consider eating an animal in the first place. We eat meat and animals eat meat because of a direct response to sin. It’s because of Gods curse that we do these things, before the fall, all living things were vegetarians. And some day it will be that way again." .... Yes someday...but today I place myself squarely in this fallen world in which I place a greater emphasis on opening my mouth for Jesus to those humans who are lost and going to hell, than hiding my light under a bushel basket. I want to reach as many lost souls as I possibly can so that I can win the praise desired by all saints...WELL DONE THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT. Concerning animals...I marvel at the range and complexity of animal life that God created. I have sit and watched hummingbirds and chipmunks in my garden and appreciate their single minded devotion to meeting their own needs (of which they are capable). The chipmunks are mindless to their danger, from me, as they dig up my carefully planted bulbs and garden beds. Yet, still they persist in defying my desire at having beautiful FLORA surrounding my patio. When they transition from eating the bulbs to burrowing under my homes foundation I change from passive to aggressive in ridding them from my garden as they are now dangerous to continued close contact based on my desire to maintain my homes continued sturdiness. I either banish(trap) or poison them to get them to leave the garden. In like fashion man did transgress the rules set down by God while we were in the garden with Him. And because of this we were banished from Eden. By the way God cursed the ground because of us, not us. But his sentence on man was that we should work the soil to provide our own food by the sweat of our brow. BTW: God killed the first animals to clothe Adam and Eve from their skins. I have a feeling/belief that having animals in our homes is based upon our attempt at setting up a selective micro-cosmic Eden. I also feel we are setting ourselves up as Gods to our pets. (This is my perception) We feed them, bathe them, clean up after them, and I sometimes believe that people expect a certain amount of Worship from their animals. A dog wags his tail and leaps with joy at his masters return to home(The Garden) in the evening after work. This brings satisfaction to the master that the dog does appreciate(worship) what is being done for it in all its upkeep, provided for by "The Master". A cat does not give half the joy to the Master as the dog but still they have their pleasant qualities. The master tolerates them as ankle ticklers and lap warmers in his garden. OH!!! What joy the master has in his garden. Only having to leave to earn his/her living by the sweat of his/her brow. But, in the cool of the evening the master can return home to his/her Eden and enjoy what he/she has worked so hard to provide for him/her self and maybe a cat, or a dog, and some fish in a bowl to round out the scene. What bliss!!! But, still next door a jealous husband beats his wife and terrorizes his kids. Down the street a little old man whithers away from malnourishment and neglect while his wealthy children only live across town. The teenage neighbor boy hates his life so much that he considers suicide. Problems, Problems, and more Problems. Could things change? YES!!! If these lost souls could be introduced to Jesus and be made aware of who he is; the Light of The World, both God and Man, the Sacrificial Lamb come to take away the sins of the world. Jesus came to offer a way of salvation to man, not animals. And now we, who are saved in Jesus Christ, owe it to our neighbors and our Real Master to stop wasting our precious time on things of this world that won't add to the spiritual fruit that our portion in the vine should be helping produce. Strive for the finish line and don't be side-tracked by these animal distractions. Seems plain as the nose on my face, which I can see if I close one eye. Why don't you close one eye and see what you are not seeing. NOW!!! The big question? Will you see this post as encouragment, or, discouragment? Enraging, or, edifying? I myself love men and women and hope that I can help those who are lost and without light. I will try my best to reflect the Lords Light so that some will be able to see. 6 | Animals in the New Testament? | Prov 12:12 | MWLaine | 187330
I SEE PETS AS A DISTRACTION FROM THE MISSION OF SPREADING THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. MANY TIMES SINGLE PEOPLE WILL HAVE A PET COMPANION THAT KEEPS THEM FROM BEING LONELY WHEN INSTEAD THAT LONELINESS SHOULD DRIVE THESE SAME PEOPLE OUT INTO THE WORLD WHERE THEY SHOULD BE OPENING THEIR MOUTHS FOR CHRIST. I see people going way overboard in how they do show affection for animals...I have been witness to people pushing pets in baby carriages, providing the best foods for the pets fussy palate, letting it sleep in their beds, kissing the dog, and wiping or picking up its feces after it has made its doody. All these things people would do for a dog or a cat and yet would these same people bother to stop and talk to anyone about Jesus? Or, are they too busy taking care of their little distraction? I think PETA people are so zealous for animal justice that they would march in protests and burn animal test facilities to the ground yet these same people don't seem give a rip for babies ripped from the womb through murderous abortion. I never read of Jesus even once petting or loving on an animal. Nor, for that matter any of the Apostles after Jesus' departure. The times I did see animals mentioned in the New Testament it was in a working relationship with humans. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a foal of a Donkey, comes to mind. I don't care if a person has animals that have a valid working relationship to their owner I just think it is a major distraction from what we Christians should be doing and that is spreading the Word, encouraging the saints, building the kingdom of heaven. Now with this young man having committed these heinous murders at Virginia Institute of Technology I think what if someone had taken the time to put an arm around him and lead him to the truth. I know Jesus would have. And the only way we can find these types of lost souls is by opening our mouths. |

7 | Mans appropriate relation to animals? | Prov 12:12 | MWLaine | 187295
Are there any references in the bible concerning man and appropriate relationships with animals? I have two brothers and one sister that keep cats and dogs living in their homes which create, for me, a problem with visiting them as I find the idea of cohabitation with animals in the home repulsive because of all the shed hair, fleas, and nasty excretions being left on rugs. In terms of groups like PETA I think they are Idol Worshippers of beasts. When I see someone give a tongue kiss to a dog I consider it repulsive beastiality. Are there any references to people keeping pets in the Old or New Testament that justifies the way people treat animals, nowadays? MWLaine |

8 | So do we all start as wheat plants? | 1 Tim 4:1 | MWLaine | 182286
While reading Jan 10th, 2007 in "The MacArthur New Testament Commentary" Matthew 8-15, by John MacArthur, I found the following report by William Barclay in Chapter 11 The Messengers of The King(Matthew 10:1). When Martin Luther became convinced that the biblical way of salvation was by God's grace working through man's faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, he began earnestly preaching and contending for this doctrine that became the hallmark of the Protestant Reformation. A friend of his was equally convinced of this truth, and the two men agreed that Luther would spend his time in the world preaching, writing, and debating, while the friend would spend his time alone in a monastery upholding Luther and the cause of the Reformation in prayer. As Luther visited the friend from time to time and reported the difficulties and obstacles of the work, the friend would intensify his praying. One night the friend had a dream in which he saw a gigantic field that stretched over the whole earth. But only one lone figure was working in the field, and when he looked closer he realized the lone figure was his close friend Luther. When he awoke he realized that he had to also go to work with Luther as he realized that Jesus' statement in Matthew 9-37:38 "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest" applied to him and all Christians who have been assigned to go into the world and carry the good news, of Jesus, to all the corners of the earth. To say the least I was stunned because I immediately realized that this was nearly my exact dream, occurring around the 10th of November 2006, just before leaving for Su Zhou, China, for work and any evangelism I and another co-worker could squeeze in. And to make things even more God pimply my friend attends an Evangelical Lutheran church while I attend a basic non-denomination Christian church. The one difference is that I also heard a voice in my dream say either “The Harvest is Nearly Complete” or “The Harvest is Complete”. Needless to say while we were in China from November 15th through the 30th of 2006 we witnessed too many and had some truly wonderful God moments. There was one particular event that has whetted my appetite to work and see more of Gods plan unfold if only God will include me. I pray that I would be given more opportunities to work for God. I report it here in front of other Christians that they might pray for me, MWLaine, and themselves, and all Christians that they too will become workers to be sent out into The Lords harvest. I pray that all readers of this document earnestly ask themselves what they can do to be sent into the harvest. Time is short, truly. It appears the Harvest is “Judgment Day” and we who will work are but workers tending the fields. In Revelations 14:14-20 it appears that angels reap the clusters from the vine of the earth, and throw them into the great wine press of the wrath of God. And the wine press was trodden outside the city, and blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses’ bridles, for a distance of two hundred miles. Also, being knowledgeable about Jesus’ parable in Matthew 13:30 in which the wheat and tares are allowed to grow up together and only at harvest are the tares separated and burned, I become confused as it appears that the truth is there may be an argument for pre-destination as there may actually be some humans who could not under any circumstances come to believe in Jesus Christ even if Jesus danced the Charleston in front of them because they are tares. So as workers tending the field our only real opportunity to see another human come to Christ is to plant wheat (our children), and/or weed, hoe, water, and fertilize around our own or someone else’s wheat. A seedling of wheat is always a seedling of wheat, and a tare always a tare. How do you change a tare to a wheat plant? Why would one human be a tare and one human be a wheat plant? But, then I have also been taught that babies and young children have a point in the lives in which they become responsible for accepting Jesus. Before that, where they to die, they would be accepted into heaven because they have no sin thus making them wheat? So do we all start as wheat plants and then eventually, because of sin, turn into tares? And can a tare be changed into a wheat plant? |

9 | Is the end at hand? | Joel 2:28 | MWLaine | 179542
Is there any evidence concerning the end times that people will experience visions and dreams that give spiritual credence to the approach of the Lord Jesus. I had a vision while praying the other moring that I was standing in a field with a scythe in hand, other laborers where present and I heard a voice say..."the harvest is complete". This troubled me greatly because I do not know it to be true as there are so many extremely lost souls all around me. I feel a need that we Christians need to re-double our efforts to collect those souls that are being lost. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

11 | Will Christians be judged at our death? | Luke 23:43 | MWLaine | 176979
A question my wife was asking me last night as we drove home from Lexington Kentucky after seeing our niece get Baptized. "Being reborn at salvation means that our sins are forgiven. So at the end of our days on earth are we judged? And does Jesus stand in our defense to declare us as one of his own thus protecting us from Gods Judgement?(Imputed Rigteousness) Or are we Judged by God at our death for sins we have committed since our re-birth after accepting the gift of grace?". My wife believes we will be judged but I believe we have taken on the righteousness of Christ, through believing in him, and thus are seen to be pure and spotless as Jesus himself.

13 | The actual date of the birth of Jesus? | Luke 2:1 | MWLaine | 163807
I would like to ask a question concerning the actual birth date of Jesus versus the celebrated date of the birth of Jesus (December 25th, every year). Why was December 25th chosen as the day we celebrate? Luke chapter 2 speaks of the time of the birth of Jesus to coincide with the 1st census commanded by Caeser Augustus while Quirinius was governor of Syria. While on site in Bethlehem Mary gave birth to Jesus. Can we zero in on the date approximately? Or, is this date a rough estimate or completely off the mark? |
