1 | Matthew 5:13 (Salt) and the Fig tree | John | JJO | 68005
Wanted to hear some feedback from others on two passages which I've read many times but recently got my attention: "you are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.." How do some of you interpret this verse? Christian who fallen or become lukewarm? Also interested in Luke 13:6-8 where the fig tree never produced fruit and the owner wanted to cut it down, but the tree keeper asked to give it one more year to see if after digging and fertilizing the tree would bear fruit. Otherwise after one year it could be cut down. Meaning on this one? Context of chapter is to repent. Is Jesus teaching we can run out of chances if we are slow or indifferent towards the gospel message? That God is patient but dangerous to pressume we will have many chances? |

2 | Info on Church of Christ | Acts 2:38 | JJO | 64906
Church of Christ Can anyone give me some feedback on this church. My wife and I who worship in both a SBaptist and Nazerene church are curious since my wife is going to begin attending a bible study with some women from the Church of Christ. She thought some in that church think it's their church or the highway. Thanks. |

3 | Loving God with Heart vs Soul | Deut 6:5 | JJO | 64324
I'm going to teach a SS lesson on the greatest commandment (Mark 12:30) and I wanted to hear others thoughts on loving God with HEART and SOUL. That is, the two seem closely related and like to hear what others say distinguishes the two from each other. That is, Heart vs Soul characteristics. Any thoughts? Thanks. |
